Don't call up. I booked mine back in late October 2022 for August - October this year. Same thing happened to me and points still haven't been taken. Ticket numbers etc all valid and have the points still in my account in case they realise they need to take them.

Recently QF released a whole bunch of J seats to DFW over winter 2023. Some are still available eg QF21 MEL - DFW on 21/7/23. They can also be booked on Asia Miles. AFAIK if it's bookable by Bronze on QFF it should be bookable by OW partners, I don't think QF restrict their availability...
