    Virgin priority boarding fail

So interesting that Virgin have let this slip so much, just as Qantas has used tech to competently fix theirs…VA should really look at tech enforced boarding groups IMHO - it’s obvious the staff are of the thinking just jam them all on at same time to get a OTD… Once again out of SYD on VA (but...

    VA50: all toilets inoperable

The comments are the best part…. (Although I feel terribly sorry for the passengers stuck on that piece of junk!); “When Virgin said they were a budget airline, nobody thought the toilets would be cut from the budget.” “They should change the slogan to: ‘Virgin Australia — taking the piss...

Will you still earn/retain Velocity status beyond 2025?

I thought I’d share this, perhaps it’s linked to the Velocity devalualtion / softening business bookings etc etc but our Virgin Account Manager approached our Procurement team as they’ve noticed a drop off of our bookings with Virgin. (Note our total domestic travel is actually +18% so clearly...

    Qantas' New A321XLR

I think MEL got the inaugural A220 flight as well from memory. I guess the plane is named after Victoria too.

    Cathay F/J seat selection OWE

Would hard blocked show as a block on EF or occupied out of interest? Looking at my first flight, looks like all F seats are ‘occupied’ sadly…. Won’t bother going to airport T-3 hours if they’ve already been allocated to diamonds…..

    Qantas' New A321XLR

Have they announced the inaugural first flight route?

    Qantas' New A321XLR

Hopefully they are similar to the new QF A220 fleet which I find really comfortable (for Y). The new VA737 seats I find very very hard and on a slightly odd angle for me. I haven’t flown NZ Y for a very long time so couldn’t compare!

    Cathay F/J seat selection OWE

For benefit of anyone trying, I tried to call up - no dice. Interestingly told that F is reserved for those travelling with infants 😂 Will try at OLCI.

    Cathay F/J seat selection OWE

Don’t suppose you’ve ever tried calling ahead of OLCI to beg? :) I try to minimise time at airports… but might have to break that rule if can’t use OLCI!

    Cathay F/J seat selection OWE

Hi there Flying shortly on some CX 777 flights in paid J as a OWE (QF WP). F seating is on the flights but not selling F, so they are blocked off for now for J seating later. I saw on some blogs that you can request these seats as a OWE at physical Cathay check in at airport? Does anybody...

Article: 6 Things Stopping Me Flying Air New Zealand More

Also in the camp of avoid Air NZ. Only exception is when I fly them (domestically) on a QF code which has actually been a fantastic arrangement long may it last!

Who is going to the USA, who has changed their travel and what will you do differently?

Personally I won’t be changing any of my business trips to the US. Don’t go there by choice for leisure anyway, so no change to that plan. Clearly though there is a significant reduction in travel/planned travel into the US though, the UK and Canadian numbers are quite astonishing.
