A question for the lurkers on AFF...

Was a lurker for many years and had limited time/inclination to post on social media. Helpful information from the Editor and members has encouraged me to post occasionally. The excellent TRs, very interesting discussions on occasions and usually respectful posts from members creates a good...

    Updates to the Krisflyer Programme

Yes, I notice Krisflyer are good with award flights I think about 353 days out however, *A are different. Not sure if it is the partner airlines e.g. AC not releasing award seats or do in batches.

Been dithering around this for a while; can't quite get myself into sell and buyback.

    Updates to the Krisflyer Programme

That makes more sense as I wasn't familiar with Kris+,. Obviously trying to market in Aus. I wonder how widespread the usage is.

    Updates to the Krisflyer Programme

Email just landed in my inbox. "From 1 July 2025, the mix KrisFlyer miles and cash rate to offset the cost of flight tickets on Singapore Airlines and Scoot will be improved, where 100 miles will be equivalent to SGD 1. Similarly, the redemption rate for the three SIA Group entities, Kris+...

star alliance flights Perth to Auckland

Thank you for info, it did look exorbitant. I'll have to get better acquainted with the program.

star alliance flights Perth to Auckland

Just checked this on the SIA website and awards are available until the end of August but couldn't see any after that. Also checked on Virgin Aus. Not familiar with their programme but they had award flights at roughly 88,000 points plus fees for economy. Not sure if this is the Virgin...

Hawaiian Airlines will no longer be an Amex transfer partner

bother, that's a pity. Are they going to replace with another airline partner? i.e. the list is shorter and less attractive.

12 hour layover in Changi - which hotel to pick?

I've been following the latter parts of this thread as we may have a similar situation later in the year and was looking at the different possibilities. Didn't realise you were flying on award points from SIN to JFK. From that perspective a hotel booking with a good sleep is more than made up...

    Air BnB Discussion

We've had a couple of cancellations that really wrecked planned family weekends with very poor excuses i.e. they had double booked the first night. AirBnb promised a $50 voucher for the next booking which never eventuated - the booking was much later and by that time the voucher was forgotten...

    Hotel Chains Ditching Mini Toiletries

Yep. And again some will find them attractive, others not. It's also a matter of the organisation's store capacity, clients and local resources. We're probably generalising. I do agree that cash is a very good way to go.

    Hotel Chains Ditching Mini Toiletries

There is probably room for both: good quality clothing suitable for e.g. employment interviews and sports equipment for children are desirable and save employees/volunteers time and effort having to purchase. Their time is valuable as well. Unfortunately in our fast fashion/instant disposable...

Article: 6 Things Stopping Me Flying Air New Zealand More

Interesting article. I had no idea about the cancellation/refund policy and it is rather annoying if ANZ cancels flight for whatever reason. We are travelling on ANZ for the simple reason it is the only direct flight albeit at an uncongenial time in the morning. The flight is also booked out...

Who is going to the USA, who has changed their travel and what will you do differently?

The World Cup will be an interesting "watch" as it is the first time 3 countries will co-host. So it's Canada, USA and Mexico. Wonder how that will work.

Who is going to the USA, who has changed their travel and what will you do differently?

Our chances of getting upgrades on Qantas are zip. Not sure I have "let go", deep breath, enough to want to fly Q - always look at alternatives first.
