Yes, I notice Krisflyer are good with award flights I think about 353 days out however, *A are different. Not sure if it is the partner airlines e.g. AC not releasing award seats or do in batches.

Just checked this on the SIA website and awards are available until the end of August but couldn't see any after that. Also checked on Virgin Aus. Not familiar with their programme but they had award flights at roughly 88,000 points plus fees for economy. Not sure if this is the Virgin...

I've been following the latter parts of this thread as we may have a similar situation later in the year and was looking at the different possibilities. Didn't realise you were flying on award points from SIN to JFK. From that perspective a hotel booking with a good sleep is more than made up...

We've had a couple of cancellations that really wrecked planned family weekends with very poor excuses i.e. they had double booked the first night. AirBnb promised a $50 voucher for the next booking which never eventuated - the booking was much later and by that time the voucher was forgotten...

Yep. And again some will find them attractive, others not. It's also a matter of the organisation's store capacity, clients and local resources. We're probably generalising. I do agree that cash is a very good way to go.

There is probably room for both: good quality clothing suitable for e.g. employment interviews and sports equipment for children are desirable and save employees/volunteers time and effort having to purchase. Their time is valuable as well. Unfortunately in our fast fashion/instant disposable...
