Is this the new norm? [Qantaslink Cabin crew won't ask passengers not to recline during meal service]

I suspect that's a little to much an altruistic interpretation. Some percentage may have that thought, but I suspect most simply don't feel the urge to recline on the short day time flight.

Is this the new norm? [Qantaslink Cabin crew won't ask passengers not to recline during meal service]

It won't make any difference. The recline of your own seat will increase the space to your own tray table but the position of your tray table is constant irrespective of what the person in front does.

Qantas Neighbour Free seating: Worth paying for?

They did have to move from their originally selected seat to get the neighbour free seat.

Qantas Neighbour Free seating: Worth paying for?

I don't disagree but it just goes to reinforce that it is a cough product. I've selected a seat, I get offered to be "neighbour free". I don't expect to move. I'd actually like the product that asked me to choose a neighbour free seat at booking time and for it to guaranteed. Why do QF (and...

Or you have one of the traditional navigation devices that have their own offline maps onboard.

Qantas Business Class meals & menus

It seems to be a Qantas J thing. I don't know why they think anyone wants dinner to take so long, no matter how long the flight. I assumed perhaps they have to wait for Neil's weeds to grow before they can be served. It takes so long I've more than once asked if they've forgotten my meal.

Optus Outage - How is it affecting you?

We have retained "old" Optus plans because they are not rate limited and still have more data than we use. I did a speed test on 5G the other day and got >600Mbps. However I'm now switching to Boost to give us the diversity (Mrs D will stay on Optus) but it still offers a rate cap off 150Mbps...

Optus Outage - How is it affecting you?

Boost is on the full Telstra network and offers low volume long expiry (12month) prepaid options.

You must mean WP - "World Pizza".

    Platinum welcome pack

I don't get the affectation. As "World Platinum" isn't a QF status you may be waiting a long time.

How far ahead to book International Flights?

Talking cross purposes here. QF and EK have a partnership. You can look at QF website for reward flights on EK. Ultimately you end up spending QF points but have an EK flight number in your booking which is pretty immaterial.

Optus Outage - How is it affecting you?

Yes. I just bought the $35 for 50GB to test it because last time I tried the Telstra network it turned out Optus had better coverage /network speed on offer in this area. Telstra had a seriously rate limited 4G offering compared to Optus at that time.

Optus Outage - How is it affecting you?

No idea. Bought a $35 prepaid plan.

Optus Outage - How is it affecting you?

They currently say "parts of the Telstra network" to paraphrase - AFAIK Boost is the only virtual operator with access to the full Telstra network/coverage at the moment. My 24 hour old Boost service certainly has 5G connectivity.

Optus Outage - How is it affecting you?

Well I did actually have to recharge it once I'd bought it 😉 but that spoils the story. I'm switching to Boost but Mrs D will keep her Optus (prepaid) service (so we have that diversity). But Mrs D. now has an activated Boost Sim with no recharge on it as well, and if the time comes to use it...

Optus Outage - How is it affecting you?

Inside the taxi boundary according to the melways of 20 years ago and inside lockdown metro suburbs. Don't deny Optus don't provide the best service in the area. When the lights went out yesterday I went and bought a $2 Boost Sim and now have access to full Telstra network with 5G (Optus...

Optus Outage - How is it affecting you?

Again, not true. You were speaking in definitives in your earlier post. There is a swathe of peri-urban NE Melbourne that has been assigned satellite, and Hyperwave is doing nicely out of that decision.

Optus Outage - How is it affecting you?

Oh yes there is. Melbourne fringe that's been moved onto NBN satellite still has copper phone lines for starters.

Life Time Gold - The [Realistic] Holy Grail

My suspicion is LTG doesn't really cost Qantas much - the odd lounge access and a few extra FF points. Those LTGs travelling in the premium cabins are still paying their way.

ACCC action re cancelled Qantas flights

Exactly - so next Friday the same (red e-deal) bundle of rights from Melbourne to Sydney costs between $155 (05:45) and $553 (13:00). QFs current defence seems to be that that is indeed the case as departure time isn't one of the things you are buying so how can you have missed the flight time...
