Stay Plus Free Night - App saying no benefits

Lots of reports of it happening across various hotels in various countries if the booking was made with points. I wouldn't worry about it..... yet.

    AFF Point Valuations

All the casual points collectors reading those articles will now wonder how they can redeem their Qantas/Velocity points for a minimum of 1.8/1.7c each, not realising that the only way to do that is with business class rewards which is difficult, and perhaps 1% of niche economy rewards.

    Qantas Cairns lounge query

It will be exactly as you described. I've done it myself and yes it is annoying and time consuming. I think it was at least a 10 min walk from the international terminal to the lounge. Note that the international terminal is boring so don't go through immigration too early.

Jetstar Flex Plus Bundle – Same Day Flight Changes on International Flights (Australia to Bali)?

It works the same way. The risks are also the same ie. the flight you really want could be sold out on the day or only has middle seats left. Also you can't prebook meals.

I appreciate the effort and I like the idea of using a basket but I'm not sure the contents of the basket is fair. Gift cards would have been removed in the final results even though it is the most accessible and easiest to redeem reward which I'm sure a lot of people use their points for. Also...

    MEL taxi scam

For the touts to still be there they must have a steady stream of victims. Surely AU residents know better so who is taking these rides? Tourists from developing countries who are used to this? Friendly passengers who engage with the touts and are too polite to say no?

    Expiring KF miles

It should be fine as long as the website lets you make date and destination changes. As soon as the website spits out an error, which could be for something as simple as a schedule change, then you will be at the mercy of the call centre. The humans who work there are very strict with the 12...

    Confused about points refund

Qantas is correct. Original itinerary home is Zone 10 - 55,200 points New itinerary home is Zone 7 - 37,600 points That's a difference of 17,600 points minus 5,000 change fee equals 12,600 For 2 people, the refund is 35,200 points, perhaps that's what the agent meant when you were told 35,000...
