How to Get My ATO Credit Refunded (Paid by Coles Gift Card)

Yes, merchant agreements require a refund to go back to the original payment method; this is to reduce possible fraud (eg, pay with a stolen card, get a refund as clean cash - and then a chargeback happens and the business is out of pocket), as well as possible points you're not entitled to...

What spending do you put on your AMEX? Any tips

Has anyone found a digital master/visa card that accepts amex as Bpay? I was thinking whether this would be a better choice than gift cards? Only if it exists.... Edit: Also is ATO considered a Cash Advance?

    Credit Card Strategies (intrigued)

I do 6-7 cards a year all for sign up bonus averaging about 400-500k points a year. Alot of the cards are the 60k, 3k min spend for 99 a year which is much better value than the top card depending on the promotion. Best Spends are to: * top up Internet (Aussie Broadband shows credit on the app)...

Qantas Future Planet - Great way to activate eligible QF Spending on Credit Cards

Wow, those gift voucher conditions are ridiculous. I would have thought that Qantas would be strongly encouraging people to give them cash in advance, but they have tried to be way too clever for their own good, by putting such awful conditions on the gift vouchers that it almost never makes...

    Strategy to obtain US Amex

Thanks for your tip. PS: Went through my credit card statements and found Woolies in store purchases of GC shows as Woolies with store location on Amex Explorer whereas Woolies online purchase of GF shows as Everyday Gift card. I usually shop at woolies as compared to Coles. Sniip does not...

    Strategy to obtain US Amex

It's a tough one, manufactured spending is much more of a thing in US so all card issuers drill into them in much more detail than Australia. For example, they will claw back sign up bonuses if you go to Walmart in US and buy a bunch of gift cards, and they will demand to see your Walmart...

    Coles gift card offers

The only way if I squint I could imagine a gift card being treated as a cash advance would be if the gift card were at Western Union or otherwise purchased directly from a financial institution in a way that made it clear it was cash-equivalent. I would never expect such treatment for a purchase...

Thanks. Hard to imagine how the author could get this so wrong. Pretty much everything she has written is false. It's almost as if she made it all up by imagining this is how it would work, rather than basing the article on facts or experience. 1613084557 Dont panic too much. By not scanning...

    Coles gift card offers

https://www.finder.com.au/buying-christmas-gift-cards-with-a-credit-card It does actually say may be treated as a cash advance. I am pretty wary after learning the hard way when buying a lotto ticket on line years ago.

I was indirectly quoting a recent finder article which said gift cards were treated as a cash advance. But thanks, good to know that is not the case.

    Coles gift card offers

This is definitely not a cash advance. Never has been. Ive purchased more than 50K of gift cards within the last 3 years and I've never seen a gift card purchase treated as a cash advance. So I'm not sure how you can use the word 'often'.
