Possible closure of Canberra, Hobart and Mildura staff bases

NJS isn’t regional, they do international, hardly entry level

How does Accor treat you as an Elite guest?

Meritons @ Mascot would be my go to, more than a room, supermarket below and heaps of restaurants if cooking is passé

Possible closure of Canberra, Hobart and Mildura staff bases

Would you be comfortable knowing they get paid less than your garbo?

Possible closure of Canberra, Hobart and Mildura staff bases

It’s not QFd, it’s NJS, aka JQ lite, merging with the Q400 ops. Drop min rest to 8 hrs then you don’t need to have crew at home to operate the first flight out when the last flight in can do it,

    Singapore Accor Recommendations

Swissotel would be my recommendation (long been a favorite of mine when it was a Westin and popped the question in the crest suites lounge to the ex wife) Great lounge - was there when it opened after a refurb a few years back

    Intercontinental Ambassador discussion

Have not bothered with AMB for a while now, ever since they watered down the benefits for RA. The free mini bar was great at places like BKK where the spirits were 700mo bottles in the suites, same for the top floor in ADL. It was hard to even hit the three different ICs domestically when it was...

    Redemption on Hong Kong Airlines

Syd-HKG started in June, too early to gauge success but first month load factor inbound was 71% outbound 91%. The route is loaded in the GDS until season changeover in March, that’s not an indication that it’s ending or was a failure.

    Redemption on Hong Kong Airlines

Not necessarily, NS26 plans are yet to be finalised for many airlines given we are just going into NW25, many airlines don’t publish newly established routes beyond their initial windows for timetables.

    Major SYD expansion

Maybe SYD didn’t want to stump up $50m+ for the golf club, and the bridges etc required to get to the land over the sewer https://www.australiangolfdigest.com.au/kogarah-golf-club-members-devastated-by-closure-of-popular-sydney-course/

    Travel Pointers Podcast Discussion

If you predominately travel in certain locales, status may be irrelevant at a certain chain. 10 years ago many on here were Hilton fans or Hyatt fans, down under both have had little to no growth vs Accor/IHG and Marriott. Status bump promos are also commonplace at IHG and Accor.

    Qantas' New A321XLR

Narrow body long haul is the future, it’s not all bad and we may need to adjust our mindset, it may offer J services where previously a wide body was the only option. Etihad's three class narrow body is a case in point.

    Woolworths gift card thread

My Woolworths spend xx_ get xx_ points offers have skyrocketed since I had gift card spend, they don’t pay points on the spend outside promo offers but their algorithm definitely takes the $$$ into account when generating incentives to increase your spend, hence my warning about the opportunity...

    Best free credit check

There are three credit info holders, Equifax, Illion and Experian which hold different data depending on which credit providers use them for checks and reporting, apparently one of the services does two of the three so you might need two at the minimum and definitely don’t rely on just the one...
