So, you think YOU can fly........

I shoot with an Olympus OMD-1 with a 300mm F4.0 lens. Love the 4/3's system and the ability to carry an equivalent 600mm lens in such a compact size. I'm a little worried that OM Systems might disappear so I'm stocking up on lens.

So, you think YOU can fly........

As has been the trend over the past few years, adding extra days to do some birding whilst on business trips, this time South America. One sight I always wanted to see was the Andean Condor and got the chance on Thursday, 12 hours after arriving on the QF flight ex SYD. It was amazing to see...

    What cheeses me off

Or trying to read which is shampoo, conditioner or body gel when you get into the hotel shower with no glasses on. The writing always seems to be so small.

Life Time Gold - The [Realistic] Holy Grail

Absolutely agreed, all churning over the business section of the aircraft. Bugger loyalty..........

Life Time Gold - The [Realistic] Holy Grail

So, I know it's a very "worn out" topic on AFF, but just look at the loyalty we give the big red roo, and then they set the bar so high for LTP. I'm sure the mathematically minded former CEO worked his formula on 5 x LTG + 5,000 SC just to keep the b#$%$#s honest......

Life Time Gold - The [Realistic] Holy Grail

When you look at the figure and data, the goal doesn't seem too bad, but reality hits when you do the calculations/projections!!!! And when you are there, you're too bloody old to fly!

Life Time Gold - The [Realistic] Holy Grail

I've just entered the final stretch to LTP and as I look at it, it's one more LTG. 12 points into it my last LTG and my estimate it's 7 years away. Planning says it's possible, but is it worth it!

WCMO; the clickbait travel cough the SMH/Age keeps putting up. Today's article was an Influencer's dream, with all the name-dropping of products. I wonder if they have to mention if they get paid to promote products/articles in the story? And the new Trivago ad on Foxtel, please stop the pain! I...

How do you store your wine [+ Fridge/Cabinet recommendations]

Cleaning up/out the cellar and came across my old Gold books. A great reference and "teaching/drinking aid" but now offering free to a good home/cellar. Never came across the Ist ed., but there is a 2nd ed. interestingly sponsored by Benson & Hedges, hence the gold colour. Prefer pick-up Melbourne.

Life Time Gold - The [Realistic] Holy Grail

I've just entered the "last leg" of getting LTP by 12 points. Mentally, I've broken it down to 5 x LTG + 5,000 "bonus" points, so into the last LTG. At my age I think it's a bit stupid to go for it, what does it achieve at the end, aged traveller, etc, etc, but I've thought, what the heck! But...

    Made any travel mistakes lately?

Thanks, but it's a bit too late to put me off travelling; Myflightradar24 is telling me I'm 0.6 days off from having spent one year of my life in the air! And no trace of the luggage.

    Made any travel mistakes lately?

I just arrived home after a horrid 96 hours of mistakes, delays, lost baggage, accidents, flying firsts, etc. From the start, the last leg of a business trip was always a problem. Had get to Chennai from Kathmandu, got a great J fare with Sri Lankan, almost a status run KTM > CMB > MAA. There...

    Cutlery

Most of my tea is from OS! Right at this moment sipping Twinnings English breakfast I bought in Sainsbury's two trips back, along with milk from Malaysia while in my room in Tirupati, India. They have a selection of T.S Wing tea in the room here which will end up in my "tea travel" bag. Love...

    Booking Sri Lankan Airlines?

I booked with Sri Lankan from KTM > CMB > MAA on 8/12 as I had to pick up a flight on the 9th to KUL. It's a long story/multi-itinerary, but in J for $360, it's too good to be true. I received an e-mail and SMS advising me that the CMB>MAA leg was cancelled and to contact them. Three calls in...
