    The Qantas Newbie Questions Thread

The multi-city tool may help, but again the domestic leg must be connecting to/from a Qantas international flight. You cannot add your QF number to a NZ flight unless you're booked on the QF Codeshare.

    The Qantas Newbie Questions Thread

You can only book certain domestic NZ flights (usually regional) when connecting from an international QF service. You cannot purchase domestic NZ flights by themself through QF/as a codeshare except as Classic Rewards (which won't be the QF codeshare anyway).

Qantas First Lounge Syd vs JAL First Lounge HND?

You can check in the luggage early yeah. Everything I mentioned is before immigration though.

Qantas First Lounge Syd vs JAL First Lounge HND?

I like the JL F Lounge, but wouldn't go through that early. I'd check-in your bags and then go check out the Haneda Airport Garden shopping mall, check out the Onsen at Hotel Villa Fontaine Grand Haneda Airport, or go to the Terminal 1 observation deck which will offer you a great view of Mt...

Latest QF App update shows call centre estimated wait times

No, it's likely a case number generated by the app that lasts a short while before expiring. Your personal info will be linked to that case number, and will be pulled up by the agent when you call. You can generate one on web as well if you follow the flow in...

Well yeah, but I'd like to know beforehand as it affects what I pack into each bag. I'd prefer to check it through, but if I can't then I won't bother putting certain items in my carry-on.

Qantas Fare Rules - Changing one flight of a return

No, it was paying the cash fare change fee ($99) even though I wasn't changing it. Was more a general comment about getting caught out by mixing fare types, when there's no reason to on domestic.

Qantas Fare Rules - Changing one flight of a return

Yeah, this sucks. Similar problem applies when booking Classic Rewards & Cash fares on the same (domestic) ticket. I made that mistake once and the Hobart call center was nice enough to waive any fees due to that mistake, although these days I can't get through to Hobart even as a WP.

Qantas First Lounge Syd vs JAL First Lounge HND?

Hmm, interesting. I did give my friend explicit instructions to go upstairs to the bar, and they reported it wasn't on the menu. They travelled on June 26th in the evening (JL51). Maybe it was only missing for a short while. Hopefully it's still there when I travel next month.

    The Qantas Newbie Questions Thread

Flying SYD-MEL (arrive 6pm), connecting to MEL-NRT (dep. 9am next day). Same ticket, all on QF. Will my bags check through and be held at MEL overnight, or will I have to look after my bags in Melbourne and redeposit the next day?

Qantas First Lounge Syd vs JAL First Lounge HND?

If it was afternoon vs. afternoon, I'd pick SYD any day. But given the SYD option is breakfast, I'd pick HND. A friend was there at the end of last month and told me there was no Yamazaki in the bar upstairs anymore 🤯

Carry on Baggage Question Qantas Domestic

I admittedly have taken baggage over the prescribed weight limit on aircraft from time to time before, but I would never blame the staff if they called me out for it. The rules are well known and displayed on signs everywhere, it was my choice to try my luck and ignore them.

Tokyo Haneda slot - How will Virgin Operate it? [CNS-HND flights ceased Feb '25]

Yes I'm sure that'll be fine, trying to use FF status (as opposed to class of travel) is when you usually run into issues.

Yes, but Make sure you haven't hit the 20k point limit for points from flights If it's a non-QF flight, it may take some time to credit. You should still retain Points Club when it's credited though The date is based on local time of where you took off
