New Qantas promos including double status credits (book by 3/9/25; travel 4/9/25 until 22/8/26)

I've got upcoming flights that were booked as DSC from a previous promo (before this clause came in). Since between now and March next year you could be flying DSC on flights booked either under the old rules or the new rules, I wonder if their IT system can handle only applying lifetime SCs to...

JAL 777-300ER back on Sydney route

It's weird because it seems to only come up in the normal booking tool, not multi-city for me, even when searching with Australian origin.

    Reward booking, no tax invoice?

Are you referring to an email titled "Confirmation and E-Ticket Flight Itinerary for xx_x", but it doesn't mention the cash portion of your payment? There won't be a tax invoice for international flights since they don't contain GST, but the E-Ticket should still have the $1500 you paid written...

JAL 777-300ER back on Sydney route

Yeah just the usual 5k change fee. I'm not sure if they repriced my ticket (booked before devaluation) to the new prices though, I will have to double check once they deduct the points.

JAL 777-300ER back on Sydney route

There is wide open space on JL51 HND-SYD but only if you search using the non-multi city tool on an itinerary that originates in Australia (that is to say, SYD-HND return) I'm unsure why it doesn't show if you use the multi city tool, even if searching with an itinerary that starts in...

    Qantas starts international wifi

737 SYD-WLG last week Was reliable and definitely "fast enough". Streaming video at 720p was no issue. The 0.01mbit/s internet on my Emirates A380 from CHC-SYD on the other hand... 1753326795 Yes, after we landed in Wellington, the wifi was still working.

QFF Platinum requesting release of extra Classic Reward seats?

I was able to get QF79 MEL-NRT Dec 25 Business QF26 HND-SYD Jan 5 Business released with no issues. The surrounding dates (Dec 22, 23, 26, Jan 3, 4) were also available. Both were showing I1 on ExpertFlyer. On the website there were zero Classic Rewards available for this time period in any...

I think ANA is also single meal choice between Korea and Japan, but unsure about Asiana (probably the same).

Qantas want to give me money

How long has the card been closed for? Generally I find if it's less than a year the refund will actually succeed and you'll have to contact the bank to retrieve your money.

tbh I was fearing revenue-based status credit earn, so I'm glad that didn't happen. Devaluation is unfortunate though.

Earning QF status credits with Finnair

QFF earn depends on the route, not the airline flown. All airlines flying a given route (excl. QF/JQ) will earn the same amount for a given frequent flyer category. Of course there's the MH case where the frequent flyer category is lower than expected for some routes, but otherwise everything...

Article: Premium Economy Flights You Can Book with Qantas Points

    Why would it be in Qantas's interest to do that? Japan Airlines is not releasing that many seats to Qantas members (or any non-JMB members at all I suspect). You can still get JAL seats reliably in all classes of travel if you book at the end of the calendar though, for instance;

    Earning points on Cathay Pacific

Well if we think about CX PER HKG or HKG TPE (120 and 80 respectively), the earn is in line with a Qantas flight of similar length (QF SYD HKG is 120, SYD PER is 80). It's just the competing routes such as the aforementioned SYD HKG where you earn half (60).

    Earning points on Cathay Pacific

Generally speaking you'll always earn if flying partner Premium Economy or above. You'll earn "full" status credits on flights unless it's a route where Qantas operates the route or sometimes if it's part of a 1-stop routing to Europe. There's a few other exceptions but that's generally the...
