Can you buy some wine to get enough points? Probably cheaper than from them direct. The cash bids are done after points upgrades, they're pretty uncommon afaik.

It makes sense that VA would prefer the cash first, but I agree that it makes points upgrade more useless. Also explains the success rate I personally find on cash upgrades. I'd imagine most would rather burn some points.

Success for 2pax and an infant on the SIN-LHR sector of QF1 as a separate booking for the 15th Nov 2025. Will make for a great first international flight for master fletty! 😁

Ouch, sounds like you got pretty unlucky there. I've arrived in on busy flights and have maybe taken an hour at most from landing to exiting the terminal, usually quicker.

How close to departure did you put in the request?

We've got 44hrs of long haul (in F and J) at the end of the year with what will be a 6 month old. Will need to try at least 1 domestic trip prior to that to work things out... All classic rewards though so shouldn't have an issue adding him to the bookings (soon!).

They occasionally serve lasagna from the Brisbane 'cantina' bar, has been imo one of the better meals.
