Crikey its Plane Talking.... well perhaps....

I've been reading the Crikey blog by Ben Sandilands of late and am wondering if people could answer something for me... Is it my somewhat overactive imagination that detects a very strong anti-Qantas bias in his posts? I don't want my question to be a character assassination, but would like to...

    Qantas cuts jet orders,capital expenditure

I wonder if it would be the A320's that are delayed as this might allow for Qantas to look at the A320 neo due to come into service in a few years time. Especially given that Boeing have said that the 737 will not be re-engined, but more than likely be a clean sheet replacement instead.

Nespresso aboard QF - an idea.

Or one for $160 when it returned in my suitcase during a recent trip to the UK.... the best ideas are generally the simplest... surely that's what the in-seat power is for!!!! ;)

    Upcoming Qantas Frequent Flyer Changes

Fair call medhead!!! I'll continue to choose to fly less than 100 flights and use the benefits befitting of my status.... I guess you'll choose not to try to achieve POW status through the use of your SC and struggle through your WP benefits or choose to move your spend elsewhere. Afterall...

    Upcoming Qantas Frequent Flyer Changes

Finally someone that takes a step back.... talk about whinging and whining.... perhaps thats what the W stands for in WP? Over the time that i have been in this forum there has been calls for QF to provide something for WP FF'ers to spend their points on other than PG.... QF deliver and...

    A380 in Y - best seats (80A/80K/71D/50C etc.)

Looks like your bang out of luck MrMaxwell: The Qantas A380 implementation schedule At this stage the A380 is bound to the LHR and LAX routes... time will tell if they open up BKK or HKG in the future.

    A380 in Y - best seats (80A/80K/71D/50C etc.)

66EFG would be the pick of the bulkheads given that there is no galley in front - only toilets and a crew rest area access. Of course the downside is being further back in the plane. 66A-C and H-K are also very good. Just be mindful that people tend to stretch their legs in the emergency exits...

    A380 in Y - best seats (80A/80K/71D/50C etc.)

I have travelled quite a few times in 50C and 51H and here are my pro's and con's list: Pro: Great access to get on and off the plane - especially when looking for that shower in SIN and the dash to passport control in LHR; Very little foot traffic with the crew really being the only ones...

    A380 in Y - best seats (80A/80K/71D/50C etc.)

I can't confirm that it is the case, but im returning from LHR on 29th May and seat 80a is still available currently and has been the way for the last 4 weeks - so my gut feeling is that those seats are now allocated to SG and WP.

    iPad2 airside Sydney T1

All brilliant discussions and ideas thanks FFyers :D. I only heard secondhand about an iPad2 warranty being knocked back by Apple in the UK as it was was purchased in the USA, so great to know this isn't the case. Looks like a day of trawling stores for the illusive goods.

    iPad2 airside Sydney T1

Hi Mal, Thanks for letting me know about the duty free number. I have checked the OS prices and it looks like Australia is actually holding up pretty well for Apple products since the Aussie Peso is doing so well. For instance at the moment a $32Gb wifi only iPad2 would be: AUS $689 less GST...

    iPad2 airside Sydney T1

I'm heading to the UK next week and was toying with the idea of getting an iPad2 airside at the Apple stand (if possible). If anyone has a free moment walking past would they mind seeing if the Apple store actually has any stock.

Help me pick a new car

My recommendation would be for the Golf GTi or the 1yo R32 or R36 While the RX8 are great you may have to contact some dealer to see if there is actually any stock in Australia. It seems that Mazda, Toyota & Subaru have almost no stock of vehicles because of the 'issues' in Japan.

    QF Y or JQ J

I could be reading the chart incorrectly, but am i reading to correct that no SC are awarded for *Class from Mel to Sin? If its true, it appears to contradict the Earning Points Calculator where it states 'On flights operated by Jetstar, Qantas Frequent Flyer points and Status Credit can be...

Advanced Seat Selection no longer just a QFF benefit (if you want to pay)

In my opinion, I don't believe you are off the mark at all Beardoc. I mentioned earlier that I have gone from an automatic row 50-52 in whY on the A380 and am now only able to get as close to the front as row 53. That being said, it doesn't worry me in the slightest, as I have the opinion that...

Advanced Seat Selection no longer just a QFF benefit (if you want to pay)

I have just booked myself another trip to LHR on the A380. Prior to the changes implemented this week, as SG i was without fail automatically allocated to the bassinet Row's of 50 or 51 at the time of my booking. Generally seat 50C or 51H. Since the changes, the closest I can now get to the...

    Manage your booking not working?

I'm sure your right Markis. I always find it fascinating that sites such as QF dont have a feature that allows people to see online what parts of the site are experiencing problems. ISP's do it well with Server or Network issues having the traffic light system. I would imagine that QF would...

    Manage your booking not working?

+1... Everytime i try to get onto the QF website to do something in the last week it's broken. Missed out on the F1 sale due to being broken, cannot select seats for OS trip and I've even been allocated two booking codes for the same flight... Perhaps QF is using VB's IT people at the moment ;)

Qantas Website - Down/Temporary Booking Page

+1 in being unable to book. I'm looking for a multi-stop International flight and as such can't use the temporary booking page . I wonder if QF will honour the prices from the sale tomorrow?
