Having to pay for Sydney transfer as flying Jetstar and not Qantas

I'm a little surprised that any one has been refused QF TXFER. I often transfer both ways with no intenrational ticket as I fly QF ADL-SYD to collect or drop some one off and the QF SYD-ADL. I just tell them, they check a boarding pass and let me through. Never been refused - maybe a run of...

    Intl F lounge guesting rules

I must admitt, I'd always taken the 'must be travelling with the member' to not specifically be 'travelling on the same departing flight' but rather that you can't guest random people in. It may also be there to remind one that the international lounges are air side and as such any guest needs...

Quick warning for newly minted Skyteam elites re lounge access

I picked up this 'feature' in the policy. Can some one clarify another difference to OW. On Skyteam it says Skyteam Operated flight, does this mean that as long as the metal is Skyteam it does not matter if it was a code share with a non Skyteam member. I am thinking Qantas code sharing with MU.

Yes I know I'm in a bloody exit row!

My concern for the people in these seats is not they state they start the flight in but the state that they finish the flight in. I think exit row passengers should not be served alcohol.

    QF no more F ?

Re: QF no more F - Today's J is tomorrow's F I think posters need a more realistic forward view. While today it is being touted that Qantas are dropping F, in two years time they will have convinced the world they have dropped Y instead and only offer F,J and Y+, the aircraft wont have changed...

Manners, Attitude and Etiquete in Qantas Lounges

Well I feel safer travelling knowing that on the whole I am surrounded by a host of Hygeine freeks. Let's make a little logical analysis. The lettuce had horse excreta on it, the chicken was part of a dirty chickens behind running around on a dropping covered floor, the cheese was fresh milk...

( Now gone) "how do I book a J any seat award at classic award points level" thread.

re: ( Now gone) "how do I book a J any seat award at classic award points level" thread. The thing I've noticed in pursuit of jood JASAs is that they are most easilly available in the week or two leading up to the flight date, rather than a long way out. At least this applies for my segments.

After years of flying, always something new to laugh at

It's not obvious what it means to me - I am often asked this in first and may answer has varied from 'no' to 'salty nuts' to 'a pillow', to 'a mains adaptor for my laptop' to 'a toasty cheese sandwhich'. I am not sure it is code for anything - Or have I been totally naive about how hot I am to...

Conflicting check-in closing times for JQ

I have a question about these strict check in time airlines as I have never actually travelled with them. When it says that you must check in by T-30 does that mean check in completed by T-30 or in the queue by T-30? It seems unfair to recharge passengers because they process the Queue slowly.

    PRC Visa application questions...

As much as Chinese form questions are confusing, often the answers do not matter much so Don't get too caught up on exactly what they do or don't want, fill the spot with something halfway appropriate and they will call if there is a problem (this has been my experience).

( Now gone) "how do I book a J any seat award at classic award points level" thread.

re: ( Now gone) "how do I book a J any seat award at classic award points level" thread. I must admit that when the ASA's became available I had a quick look and decided that they were not worth the huge points requriements. Then playing late one day (as one does), I noticed I could do...

After years of flying, always something new to laugh at

Had this on a jet flight last year. Passenger to FA: Is it Ok to smoke on this plane? FA to passenger: Ofcourse, as long as you open the window first.

    What should I have done?

Hmmm, I'd like everyone treated with respect of course. But part of the problem is staff who think that because their pay comes from Qantas they actually fully understand every aspect of it. I'm sure many here can give examples of where they have had to push to get what they were fully...

Qantas Restaurants that HAVE or HAVE NOT awarded points

re: Qantas Restaurants that DO or DO NOT award points Legally, Well I am no lawyer (which makes my advice unqualified but useful rather than expensive). If you provide your contact details (suggest business details to avoid potential for harrassment) then there is no offence. There may be a...

Qantas Restaurants that HAVE or HAVE NOT awarded points

re: Qantas Restaurants that DO or DO NOT award points This thread has been going for a while and I think it is time that FF posters developed a bit of brass. If there is going to be another post on this I'd like to see it read - 'He told me the machine wasn't working so I gave him my business...

Tier Matching at DJ - Oct 2010 [Offer closed]

Re: Tier Matching at DJ - Process [Offer closed] - still matched Well the offer is apparently closed. And much to my surprise my match came through today. I sent it in on 5th and 10th before the 'published closing'. I did not get a congratulation email or anything just a statement that...

QF A330 300 Best Economy seats

Re: Any recommendations for best seats (economy) on Qantas A330-300 other than exit r My experience is quite different - the bulk head gives you knee room but not foot room because your feet have no seat to slip under. The trays in the arm rests also take valuable width (assuming that your...

Can I Take My Checked In Luggage Out During My Transit In Hongkong Airport??

I often grab a bus (973 I think) which does a loop between Kowloon and Stanley Market. Like a little child I get on at one of the first stops (near Canton Road) and run up the stairs to get an up stairs front seat. The windy roads through the hills are a hoot and the view quite good. At $HK13...

One way HKG - PEK - suggestions please

I'd certainly also suggest Dragon/Cathay. My usual choice when flying HKG-PVG (similar to HKG-PEK) is to pick the flights operated by A330 rather than A320 and then select first class.

Can I Take My Checked In Luggage Out During My Transit In Hongkong Airport??

Re: Can I Take My Checked In Luggage Out During My Transient In Hongkong Airport?? When you check into your first flight you will need to discuss where your luggage is checked to. If you stop for 24+ hours in HKG then almost certainly your luggage will only be checked to HKG and MUST be...
