The system needs to query the Velocity database and OLCI does this where as printing a BP doesn't trigger a need to query the database. I have used OLCI outside of 24 hours, even though it wont check you in, I've had it update my status.

Good to see QF is starting to come to the same level as VA. They have been using mattress pad's and duvet's since the beginning. Only new idea ise the use of an ipad, VA could use the ipad's/tablets the flight manager's use like QF will be, this would be a positive step.

Cairns flights are a good SC earner, similar or same as a Melbourne leg and often cheaper.

I have done this a few times, I just call the Velocity number and they do it all (as another poster has said). First time when I spoke to the normal call centre and told them what i wanted to do they transferred me to velocity and they did both steps. Maybe you got someone in the New Zealand...

all of the A330 seat maps show the new layout until the aircraft rego is assigned to that flight about 4 days out. so you can only use the seat map as a guide within four days. A lot of people complain that the aircraft has changed from a new one to one of the older A330's, most of the time...

I' was on VA7 in J and they used one of the gates at the far end of the international terminal that had dual aerobridges. Mind you one was just for Business Class so the effect on the boarding probably wasn't sped up all that much.
