QF business not what it used to be?

My own experience has been that QF is a mixed experience. The seats are very outdated, lacking direct aisle access or adequate cubby/storage pockets and spaces. The PJs are nice, but the lack of lavatories means long lines when everyone changes into them after the meal and changes out after...

Qantas Club Dress Standards...Stubbies, singlet and thongs....What the???

One of us doesn't mind shoes, so he wears them on planes and elsewhere. I get overheated in them, so I wear thongs everywhere and don't pack shoes. I use the luggage space for things I'll use (we never check bags, so must travel with only essentials). I never wear singlets (tank-tops) when...

Qantas Club Dress Standards...Stubbies, singlet and thongs....What the???

Exactly. And people such as myself, who fly to Australia wearing thongs (or flip-flops or flippies) and with no shoes in our luggage (not having any need for same) can fly in F yet be denied access to QF lounge for connecting domestic flights.

Qantas Club Dress Standards...Stubbies, singlet and thongs....What the???

Yes, when all men wore suit jackets and hats at all times, even bums. And no woman would appear outside her house without her arms and hands covered. Nor would she ever expose an ankle, lest she be considered a "loose woman."

Or just rescind the silly rules. These aren't the 1950s.

Same goes for thongs. Neither offensive nor indicative of behavior.

Qantas Club Dress Standards...Stubbies, singlet and thongs....What the???

Since I almost never have shoes with me on trips, it's a major hassle for me. I'd have to make room for shoes in my one carry-on bag, meaning I'd need to leave something else out. Then I'd need to change into them before entering the club, and change back after leaving

Qantas Club Dress Standards...Stubbies, singlet and thongs....What the???

Australians in particular have a weird bias against thongs. I live in California, where people wear them year-round, even in fancy restaurants. I've flown on many personal and business trips (even when I was presenting at engineering conferences) with no shoes, just thongs. I have on occasion...

    AA Premium economy

AA has said that premium economy will eventually be on all long-haul international, but it will first appear on the 787-9s in late 2016. So expect it to not appear on the 77W used for LAX-SYD for a few years after that. AA has not yet said which booking code will be used for premium economy...

    AA Premium economy

AA has said it will be extra legroom, a foot rest bar attached to the seat in front (a leg rest at the bulkhead seats), Bose headsets, and upgraded food (upgraded compared to Y/MCE).

If you're used to F or J, I doubt you'll be happy with this.

AA Points, is it worth it ?

One thing to note is that all AA awards are one-way, so one option might be to use AA in one direction, and QF points in the other. Also, AA miles can be used for award flights on all AA partners, including AA, QF, BA, CX, JL, QR, EY, etc. So, if you can't find an award seat on an AA or QF...

    Outrageous taxes on LONE5

Is this in business? I tried to replicate the search but after filling in PER-DFW, DFW-LHR, LHR-PER and filling in dates, it just keeps saying "You must select an itinerary to continue."

    Outrageous taxes on LONE5

I think it was in April 2013 that AA started charging fuel surcharges when tickets included other carriers' flights. I was rather dismayed when pricing my own xONEx to see fuel surcharges around $1300-$2000. I used the online tool to try all sorts of carriers metal and codeshares, but nothing...

    New QF A380 reconfiguration!!!

There are separate airbridges for the upper deck -- it's not like a 747 where you board onto the main deck and climb stairs.

No; it's unfortunately very common to make use of the toilet but not wash.

How good is the massage in the first class lounge in SYD?

Which treatments are most recommended? Have a flight out of SYD in a few weeks. Should I be lucky enough that there are slots available, wondering what is best.

How good is the massage in the first class lounge in SYD?

Good question. But I thought tipping is not widespread in Australia? (E.g., taxi drivers don't expect a tip, just round up so no coins)?
