Thailand - Digital Arrival Cards Required From May 1st

I'm arriving BKK on Sunday, so I guess I won't have to fill out any Immigration forms at all.

Anyone heard about a change in earnings rate?

I tend to agree that QF could move to some sort of revenue-based model (not necessarily similar to BAC) within the next year or two. I'm about 3,000 SC's away from LTG, which would take about 2.5 years to achieve based on my current earning rate. If Qantas does announce the introduction of a...

Auckland Airport No trains until end of April

CDC NSW is a part of ComfortDelGro Corporation Australia (CDC), which in turn is owned by ComfortDelGro Corporation Limited. Parent company ComfortDelGro is headquartered in Singapore, and also operates in the United Kingdom, New Zealand, China, Ireland, France, Malaysia, Spain, Portugal, Greece...

Article: Bizarre Airline Lounge Access Restrictions at Bangkok Airport

If you're happy to pay for lounge access, you can't go past the Omanair lounge (quite near the QR lounge). Good food oiptions, self-pour quality champagne and comfortable seating. It used to be my go to lounge at BKK until the airport mafia closed off this option (using prority pass).

Does The Airport Lounge Influence Your Choice of Airline/Destination?

I guess most people would think I'm a bit odd (!), but I just booked a trip on the basis of getting access to the OneWorld lounges (BA,CX, QF) in LHR T3. I also wanted to go to somewhere in Italy, but had no particular preference (apart from not Northern Italy). So, looking at BA's destinations...

Well, it's better than the VA HBA lounge...

    Made any travel mistakes lately?

I Just made a bit of a "mistake" with my CommBank "free" travel insurance. At my age, buying travel insurance for a couple of weeks can easily exceed $500, so the CommBank requirement of spending $500+ (in one transaction) on travel with their CC seems to be a good deal. So far so good. I had...

Bankwest Qantas Transaction account [being withdrawn in 2025]

It seems that Bankwest is going to the dogs. They've also closed all their branches. I think I might close my transaction account with them, as it no longer offers anything that's not available from other banks, and there is also the monthly fee (which of course I avoid). On top of that, they...

Virgin Australia Lounge Adelaide so sad so basic

Really? Perhaps you meant the Melbourne lounge? In any case it's not "flagship" in any sense, so I'm not sure where you're coming from. However, I do sometimes prefer to hang out at the SYD J lounge rather than the F lounge. Sure the views (and furniture) are better in the F lounge, but the...

Virgin Australia Lounge Adelaide so sad so basic

In my experience, almost everything is different in the Adelaide lounge. Apart from the meagre food offerings, there is no self-pour wine and the measures poured by the bar staff are very small. It's the worst VA lounge I've been to. Without a doubt, the best is the Gold Coast, IMO.

Article: Bizarre Airline Lounge Access Restrictions at Bangkok Airport

I'm flying out of BKK on SQ in a couple of weeks. It will be interesting to see if my Star Gold status will get me into the other Star Alliance Lounges (eg TG, TK, BR). If not I'll have to slum it in the SQ lounge. This whole business of directing travellers to the Miracle and Coral lounges...

    Everyday Rewards Targeted Offers

Indeed. I've had these great offers too, but felt to decline. In the meantime, Coles have offered 2.500 pts for one spend this week and 10-20,000 pts for a 4-wk spend, starting this week. I know where I'll be going. Woolies is getting rather arrogant.

Terminal 3 Silverkris Business Lounge (not *G lounge)

Next week I'm flying CGK-SIN-BKK in Y, so I'll have access to the *G lounge in T3. Although my flights will arrive and depart in T2, I'll be getting the train to T3 so I can enjoy a couple of hours in a half decent lounge (with toilets).

Air NZ set to rake in $20M in unused travel credits

Yes, my wife had these issues with NZ credits. She was "forced" to book and fly before expiration of the credits, and as a result, she says she will never fly NZ again. I encourage her to stick to her principles...

Will you still earn/retain Velocity status beyond 2025?

And you're saying that the VA offering is premium? I fly both so I have a valid opinion.

Article: These Cards Are an Alternative to Velocity Status

I think I'll credit my future VA flights to my UA account. At least UA miles are useful for booking short haul flights in Europe.

Who is going to the USA, who has changed their travel and what will you do differently?

Well, who knows, but you must admit that this Administration is new. And by all reports, they are doing some new things (not all of benefit to foreigners or DEI, etc, apparently). So, it may be possible that some agents at the borders are interpreting guidelines (or worse) from the new Govt with...

Latest information about 28 degrees card

I have Bankwest credit and debit cards. I don't use them very much now, as many of the sites I use (eg Cathay Pacific) they block. So what's the point? I now use Wise debit cards.

Melbourne International Business Lounge Dungeon Food

When in Singapore, I often pop into the First lounge for a couple of glasses of champagne (pity it's not a great one), and a snack, then head over to the BA lounge, which I think has better food and drinks than the QF J lounge.
