I have a letter with my new date from virgin, which is basically pleading to let me int the lounge. As notzac i am not going in expecting much will plan accordingly. I am surprised it takes virgin so long to get a new card out to the sydney CBD.

Yeah. The few lounge visits with the expired card and the letter will be interesting, but i am not holding out too much hope.

Yeah, they have always asked for my card even when the BP shows the status. Guess i am just going to have to try my luck and hope it all works out.

Hopefully this is the right thread for this. I am after some champagnes to try out in the 50-100$ range. I know this is probably sacrilege given some precious responses in this thread, but i am rather a fan of mumm. Any recommendations you might have would be most appreciated.

Was wondering if anyone travelling on VA2 has ever had any luck checking in before the 3 hour opening time? Getting into LAX around 5 and checkin would be opening at 6:50 would love to just check in and waste time in the lounge rather than meandering around terminal 3.

It all comes down to discretion i guess. I once tried it with someone who had been rejected, and was told you have to know them to let them in. Probably shouldn't have done it in front of the desk i guess :)

I agree. I have actually had 4 people travelling with me. Didn't use the priority boarding line but when the check-in agent noticed i was WP. Priority tagged everyones bags, moved everyone into either row 3 or exit rows and i wound up with a shadow. All with out asking. Lounge angel even granted...

I had my first month in a long time with out seeing the inside of an aircraft or an airport lounge. I actually rather enjoyed it.

I have managed to snag row 3 on a VA flight when booking another passenger on the same ticket.

Never had anyone question it. Usually just present the boarding passes at the same time.

I have never had a problem with lounge access/priority boarding/priority check in etc with me being a WP and partner with no status. This applies to both partner airlines as well as VA.

Not a chance, especially if you don't have lounge access. It is a quick trip to Santa Monica, in n out. Although in that time you could easily get to hollywood even to universal studios!

Well they could oversell and take you off the flight. Happened to me in the Atlanta. Gently reminded them that this would mean i would miss my connection back to Sydney.
