With Tom Bradley making the list, I am surprised KL LCC isn't there.

Flight Centre hit with $11 million fine for attempted price fixing

So, how did the consumer lose out? From my quick read of the situation, Flight Centre put pressure on the airlines to guarantee them equal or better than what the airline had on sale. In other words, wanting to match the online price that could be found at Emirates website. I think that is...

Which presupposes that Captain Zaharie is a devout Muslim. I read he is an atheist.

    MH 777 missing - MH370 media statement

Or North West Australia! Thinking of somewhere that might be corruptible and have weak radar and fits with the North West heading after crossing Malaysia into the Melacca Strait, Burma springs to mind. They also value gold very highly.

Other problem from Broadmeadows = Large bridge required to cross the valley at massive expense. From Essendon crosses no valleys.

Proposal for high speed monorail to Melbourne Airport

I tend to look at Singapore as a great example of how public transport can work. Yet Singapore, with it's wonderful airport, does not have a direct train to the CBD. After catching a train from the CBD to Tanah Merah, you need to change to a smaller shuttle train to the Airport. In a similar...

    Kogan luggage

I bought the polycarbon set from Kogan (at $149 on sale a fortnight ago). They are very light and look and feel good enough to do the job. If you are not in a hurry, wait for a sale. They will be at $149 again sometime soon. My wife bought a good suitcase from Aldi about a year ago which she...

    Qantas ditches SAA codeshare

Qantas have announced the dropping of the code share "in anticipation" of the ACCC not wanting to allow an extension. The fact that they pre-empt the ACCC decision indicates it is really just a matter of convenience for Qantas.

KUL to MEL via the scEnYc route

I have booked this for April school holidays. Fantastic deal. Penang seems to be the best gateway, as well as a good stopover point. I got Melbourne to Penang with Air Asia for A$305 all up, was cheaper than MEL - KUL! Then I got Malaysian from Penang to KUL followed by EY 411 operated by VA...

Can one make a living from being a Frequent Flyer

I did that once when in London in the late eighties. Got a free flight to New York carrying a satchel full of waybills. The cargo was on the plane. I handed in the satchel at the desk in New York (DHL or similar). They also got me a $50 or so flight from Boston back to London for a week...

Viva Macau's website is announcing that Melbourne - Macau flights start on December 9. Fares appear to be A$245 plus A$100 or so taxes each way. They are currently available right through the holidays. Seems to be the cheapest way to Hong Kong for the Christmas holidays.
