I just did the NRT-SIN night flight on Tuesday. Nothing beats suites. I chose to have minimal sleep and worked as much add I could. Got room at the transit hotel for a nice 5 hour kip on arrival. The wentto TPR for a nice lunch. Was a good solution for me and kept me in suites for the whole...

First Class Book the Cook suggestions

Re: Book the cook suggestions by departure city Back with a quick report before I hit the sack for a few hours in the transit hotel here in SIN. Lamb chop was ok. Overall I've been more impressed with the standard menu fare this trip, although I've selected dishes that don't by definition, come...

Oh and one other thing I forgot to post. I was the only suites passenger from NRT TO LAX. I was VERY well taken care of.

First Class Book the Cook suggestions

Re: Book the cook suggestions by departure city Wasn't really impressed with either choice. The steak was over done and quite dry and the lobster was pretty bland. Maybe my expectations are too high? I'm now on LAX-NRT and have booked the lamb chop. I'll report back again.

Cruiser. If I'd known I could have had even longer in their charming company I would have. Although the forgiveness of Mrs Pgsdiver only extends so far. Am now sitting in 3C ready for LAX-NRT leg after 8 data in Las Vegas. The contrast between the brash in-your-face (but admittedly fast &...

Well for this particular trip it was expensive a looong way out then got gradually cheaper. Then about 4 weeks out it then got expensive as the cheaper fares were bought up before getting cheaper about 4-5 days out. YMMV.

Yes agreed. For me the re position to LAX would rule out most same day returns, and since there is hotel here paid for, I figured I'd try to get the most value I could out of here (LAS). The return via DTW does provide one leg over 1500 which is nice. And yes Saturday and Thursday were the two...

Re: Need 4 DJ sectors and 130 SCs by Sept 1 OK So I'm now doing a USA status run starting in about 24 hours. LAS-MSP-DFW-DTW-LAS, for 260 SCs, for $967 AUD which works out to about $3.72/SC - not awesome but as a last minute purchase I'm pretty happy. Then two days later on my next free day I'm...

Cruiser that welcome seems to be almost standard in SIN suites. Never ceases to amaze me how great the service is. Sitting in tpr writing this ready to go on SQ12 to LAX via NRT. My colleagues think I'm mad taking the long way round. ...... poor ignorant fools!

Re: Book the cook suggestions by departure city In an hour I'm heading off on SQ12 SIN-NRT-LAX. Because my wife isn't looking I'm having the right oz rib eye steak for lunch then lobster thermodor with pilaff rice for the second leg. I'll report back. I can say I've enjoyed the TPR eggs...

Great suggestions and thanks to you and the others who've replied. I've booked into the transit hotel for the early hours arrival and will decide on the other one on the day - hotels are easy in Sing so I'll take pot luck. And yes, with those sorts of transit times a trip into the city is...

Best option I have found now is about $4.45 per SC, but the other half has put the kybosh on it as I'd need to spend 2K to get to Plat - sob..... For interests sake, if anyone is doing seraches, from LAS I found that Delta to DFW in F offered the best $/SC, but this was for travel in mid Feb...

I'm heading out on my odyssey early next month. SYD-SIN-NRT-LAX and return a week later After one previous experience of suites on an all-too-short jaunt to SIN last year I'm really looking forward to it. By the way, if you want to know the meaning of life - check out CruiserElite's signature...

The Velocity Status Run Master thread

Hello all, Planning a run in Feb as I have a few days after a conference there. I've done the SJU run before and very much fun it was, but I have a quandary. Do you knowledgeable folk think a 1 hour 15 minute layover in MSP is too short with checked luggage? My alternative is trying to find...

    Name that airport!

In the Us they have Logan, so why can't we have Bogan? Bogan International? Bogan Field? (and for those that think I'm being disrespectful - I grew up in Sydney's south west and spent most of my school life out at Glenfield - close enough to give me honorary Bogan status.)

Good story. I've moved many times on flights when others have had seating "issues". To be honest I'm not really fussed where I sit unless in Y, in which case I want aisle. I've been centre and window in suites and the bubbles taste just as nice in either!
