Malaysia adds a third daily MEL - KUL service

Sorry I should have been clearer, x6 daily frequency including D7 & EK services. So MEL will receive x3 Daily from MH, x2 Daily from D7 and x1 from EK on the MEL-KUL route totalling to x6 daily services.

Malaysia adds a third daily MEL - KUL service

MH has been doing quite well on MEL-KUL, its one of, if not the most profitable route to Australia, despite the competition from both D7 & EK. MEL-KUL will increase to x6 Daily flights from NOV, which is quite impressive!

    New Sheraton for Melbourne

Construction on the new Sheraton Melbourne is going on very nicely; should be opened by Late February, a year later then intended - its more than half way done. The new Sheraton Melbourne would have a more boutique feel rather than your typical city Sheraton. Sadly W Hotels Melbourne never...

BNE- SIN possibly VA A330's first intl route?

I guess VA could give some serious competition to both GA & JQ to DPS by using their A332's, but I would really love to see VA open up MEL-NRT, MEL-ICN, MEL-TPE, go into an underserved and untapped market, I'm sure these routes won't bother SQ too much ;)

MEL to start third runway project

The 3rd runway couldn't come any sooner, MEL could be welcoming 4 new carriers this year. The Electorate where MEL is located is a VERY safe Labour seat (both federal & state) and has been for many years, actually as long as I can remember. The demographics are pretty much of a "working...

Cebu Pacific (5J) to launch A330 service to Australia

Well 5J have already applied for additional increases and wish to serve MEL & SYD only. They want SYD x3 weekly and MEL x2 weekly with their new A330 fleet.

Why don't QF and CX get along?

Has anyone ever thought that the reason both CX & QF don't co-operate on each other's services is because they have a monopoly on Australian-HKG flights? Besides CX & QF, the only other competitor offering direct flights is VS' own HKG-SYD service. If both CX & QF co-ordinate flights, pricing...

Virgin Blue embarks on brand overhaul

Yes! SkyTeam please, and drag NZ with them. Although VA could fit in with *A, I think VA would work much better with current ST members, ST seems to be the alliance that gives it's airlines more opportunity and their members work very well with each other compared to OW & *A. AF/KL & DL work...

Virgin Blue embarks on brand overhaul

I think it's either everything will be called Virgin Australia (excluding Polynesian Blue) or we will have just Virgin Australia & V Australia & Polynesian Blue, If there was to be a new brand, shouldn't be there a new logo for it? & shouldn't the logo have been presented at the same time as the...

Virgin Blue embarks on brand overhaul

A smart thing for DJ/VA to do if they actually have both Virgin Australia & V Australia is to paint all of their planes in the same Virgin livery and have a little "operated by V Australia" sticker at the front for international services. Although onboard and at the terminal V Australia would...

Virgin Blue embarks on brand overhaul

I think the most likely outcome at the end will be 2 Virgin airlines, Virgin Australia & Virgin Samoa/Polynesia. But I think by having 'Virgin' in the new name would help brand awarness for "Virgin Polynesia/Samoa" and people may have more interest in Samoa for having an investment by a...

Virgin Blue embarks on brand overhaul

I very confused about this re-branding So Virgin Blue Holdings currently have 4 Airline Brands - Virgin Blue (Australian Domestic) - Pacific Blue (Pacific & Asia Flights) - Polynesian Blue (Samoa's Flag Carrier) - V Australia (International long-haul) DJ has already confirmed that it will go...

Introducing Virgin Blue's new A330 Service

Virgin Oceanic would have been a good name for the new DJ. Too bad the submarine got it. I wonder what's their slogan gonna be? Virgin Australia - Your airline either has it or it doesn't ;) All that aside, I think an announcement will be coming up very very soon, we even saw snippets of...

Virgin Blue embarks on brand overhaul

Apparently it's something to do with Flybuys, like what QF currently does with Woolies/Safeway, and let me tell you I have been shopping at Woolworths as much as I can since it first happened. But an announcement on the new name would be nice, although I doubt it would be different to VS, VX...

Virgin Blue A330 J class, ATR and new uniform details

Will the A330's be MEL based or SYD based? All I know is that DJ won't be operating A330's to MEL when they come into service only later when the 3rd and 4th ones arrive. Exciting times! Does anyone know when it goes into the paint shop? :D

Hilton Melbourne Airport a Hilton no more! (from 31st March 2011)

Sorry to bump this thread Why is Hilton MEL actually changing? Did Hilton terminate the lease or the new owners terminate it? I would rather have a Hilton than a no name (well not worldwide) Park Royal that does nothing to give you status points with limited hotel coverage world wide. They...

    -- V Pacific--

I want a Virgin Asia aswell! But doesn't Virgin part own D7? Anyways, I am very confident the new name will be Virgin Pacific or Virgin Australia, no V's. With the logo similar to that of VS and new livery also adopting VS's new identity, but maybe a blue tail will look better than the red...

How many diverted flights have you been on ?

I don't know if it would actually be classified as an diversion but, I recall traveling on BKK-MEL a few years back on the 744 and the aircraft had to have a stop in DRW, I remembered there was a man wearing handcuffs being escorted out by QF FAs. The worst thing was they kept us all onboard for...

    Air Asia X MEL>KUL

My flight is booked on a Saturday, that would be no problem right? As I think D7 do quite well with Saturday flights out of MEL. This is what I get for flying Premium; - Priority Chech-In - Priority Boarding - A Combo Meal - Priority Baggage - Pillows & Blankets - Pick A Seat - 20 Kg...
