    Tiger Bali flights

This is actually the second time VA has been involved in a similar case with the Indonesian authorities. When VA rebranded from Pacific Blue to Virgin Australia, there were similar issues with the Indonesian Authorities too regarding the rebrand.

EY A380 to MEL from June 1

What flight are you on? Afternoon departure or night departure? Only the night flight will get the A380 from June, so that should be reflected on your booking already. If it shows 77W still then you are probably on the afternoon flight.

Vietnam Airlines launches 787 services to MEL & SYD

Effective 29OCT, VN will introduce daily 789 services to both MEL and SYD, at this moment Premium Economy is not available from MEL, but is from SYD. For Business Class pax, that means they now get a lie-flat bed instead of an angle-flat bed with direct aisle access for every pax which is a huge...

Qantas to expand Asia services and rejig US services from April 2016

It's time to play the guessing game again folks! QF is rumoured to be adding a new Asian A330 route/destination soon, due to start some time after October. Anyone know more?

    Thai A350

Yes, but there is the 773 (non-ER) with the 2-3-2 configuration and 77W with the 1-2-1 configuration. Wouldn't it confuse people to also call the 777-300ER as the 773 in this context as people wouldn't know which one it is?

    Thai A350

You mean 77W? ;) 773 would be the same as those on the 772 in a 2-3-2 layout. Yes the layout will be 1-2-1 staggered layout with 32 J seats.

    Thai A350

TG's reservation system now reflects the A350 change for TG465/466 initially, effective 01JUL whilst TG461/462 changes over to A350 flights from AUG - Making TG's MEL flights A350 exclusive. Both flights revert back to 777-200/300 equipment from 30OCT, though this might be due to TG not...

    Cathay Dragon

I'm just gonna throw in my 2 cents and just say that theres major differences. If you ask me more people would be like "oh it looks similar to Cathay Pacific's logo, might be related", which is the real intent, rather than "is that Qantas or Turkish Airlines?" Your average joe won't care, let...

Tipping problem in LAX TBIT Lounge [is back]

Re: TBIT 'Qantas' Business Lounge - extremely confused, as are staff I totally agree, we are so protected here in Australia where the said price includes everything (such as taxes/GST), that we are surprised when we get hit by 'hidden fees' such as ++ or tourist tax and even tipping. It's...

    New EK lounge Melbourne

I knew this months ago, essentially the lounge extensions upstairs saw space for 2 new lounges, though NZ decided not to take the space upstairs, EK decided it was a good idea to expand its existing lounge (or something along those lines). The other space left will be the new EY lounge due to...

Qantas to expand Asia services and rejig US services from April 2016

I'm not seeing those times loaded in, so that's strange. Definitely agree, traffic between MEL and SIN is not just one-way, demand is very strong both ways. MEL, was always popular amongst Singaporeans, many fly to Melbourne for short trips, 2-3 nights as an example, a few times a year. They...

Qantas to expand Asia services and rejig US services from April 2016

Actually I guess we were all wrong with QF set to announce MEL-SIN going x10 weekly, with a new QF37/38 afternoon service departing at 16:05 arriving in SIN at 22:15, the return QF38 service departs SIN at 23:35, arriving back to MEL at 09:00. :)

Cabin crew bans passenger from flight after sharing revolving door at airport

Very poor form on the FA's part, very unprofessional and definitely reflects badly on the airline. I hope that the particular FA receives proper re-training or some lessons on telling the differences between a threat to safety and personal hate, the later is very unprofessional, I doubt someone...

Qantas to expand Asia services and rejig US services from April 2016

I guess AFF's have solved it! Makes sense if you take everything into consideration, doesn't seem like a coincidence either. Though why didn't QF just make the announcement from the beginning? Instead, they said that they are going to allocate the plane to another Asian market.

Qantas to expand Asia services and rejig US services from April 2016

Lisa10, what day are you travelling? QF must be updating the schedule now.

Qantas to expand Asia services and rejig US services from April 2016

Changes see SYD-LAX reduce to x1 Daily, operated by x6 weekly A380 and x1 weekly 744 service. That is where the extra A380 frequency is coming from for DFW to become daily. Also great news to see QF up-gauging selected MEL-HKG flights to 744, demand definitely outstripping supply on that route.

EY A380 to MEL from June 1

EY will be operating daily A380 services to MEL from June 1, 2016. The other daily flight will remain 77W for now, I sure know which EY will be more popular from now on ;)

    Possible new Mainland China Routes

Today CAAC has revealed a few applications from Chinese Airlines, and have progressively published them to the public, which includes new Mainland Chinese routes out of both MEL and SYD: Beijing Capital Airlines (HNA Group) Qingdao - Melbourne x3 weekly A330 from JUL 2016 China Southern...

SriLankan Airlines to fly to MEL

Unfortunately the date of 02NOV is incorrect, UL will start somewhere in 1H of 2016, we should hear something in the coming months.

Qatar Airways set to fly DOH-SYD from 01 March 2016

Whoever said they should put on the A380, too soon? No? MEL would probably deserve them first ;) QR will be phasing out F on its other aircraft besides the A380's, which will be the only aircraft to have an F cabin. New aircraft will only b configured in a 2 cabin configuration.
