I'm glad I bailed out of Citibank. For 6 months I was getting 3.5 points per dollar & rattled up 60,000 QFF points. (as I prev posted last yr) The Plat card is a rip off !! $250 + $90(sup) + $19(QF opt in)= $359 to get 1 miserable point per dollar. There kidding. Amex Plat is $395 & you get...

    "Is Citibank Risky?" Survey

    1. Multi BILLION bailouts. 2. Its most profitable arm (in Aust anyway) is its credit card business which is likely to be sold off. If you can't see the forest for the trees.............................

    "Is Citibank Risky?" Survey

I agree. Its just plain silly to have a deposit account when Ausssie banks are (probably) the safest in the world. In the long run Citibank WILL NOT be fine as it sells off bits of its business, including its credit card business. And thats not hype.

I'm a Citi Credit Card & deposit customer also. Its the deposit situation I'm also getting a little nervous about. It maybe time to say 'hello again' to either CBA/NAB/WBC or ANZ.

Platinum Amex CC: 30000 MR Points on $1000 spend

In May I was offered the Qantas basic card as a completely new Amex member (Qantas must have given them my QFF number). I received 5,000 points. Then in July(ish) I dumped it & switched to the platinum moneyback & rec'd the 5% off for 3 months etc etc. A month or so ago I dumped that &...
