    NZ v VA to LA

You wont be disappointed (at least in my experience). I will give my best comparison. You use the same lounge in Sydney. The lounge for airnz in LAX is horrible. The new lounge for VA in TBIT is pretty good. I love the terrace if the weather is good, not great for a late VA departure though...

Esta...do you need to notify 72hrs out?

The checkin agent will ask you if you did not provide it when purchasing the ticket, what your first hotel address is.

Esta...do you need to notify 72hrs out?

One piece of advice. Make sure the address you give the check in agent matches what you tell immigration. That was not a fun experience.

Esta...do you need to notify 72hrs out?

Mirroring this. Multiple trips a year and never updated and never had a problem.

    Airlines can't do anything right

    Would "ongoing" be better suited?

regular J class Sydney to San Francisco, what options are there

I don't think i have had a bad flight with them yet. Always been personally greeted. When i flew Y was given the champagne from J, noise cancelling headphones and served meals first etc.

regular J class Sydney to San Francisco, what options are there

Oh yes i forgot about that part. You leave around the same time as VA1 but because you are transiting through AKL, you get off 3 hours later. You then jump onto NZ8 opt for the fast dine and sleep the entire journey waking up (almost) ready to take on the day.

regular J class Sydney to San Francisco, what options are there

I do this trip a few times a year can hopefully shed some knowledge. Avoid UA it has a pretty horrible on time performance. If you are with VFF then i would highly recommend flying airnz. This will have you transferring through AKL instead of LAX. If you are flying J you should earn status...

    Which first class?

Yup cash. I already looked into a EK/QF - LH/SQ mix it was above double the cost of EK/QF alone.

    Which first class?

Not really a 180, more 30 degrees. There were a lot of suggestions for both Emirates and QF. Didn't want to make a new thread.

What happened to VA departure from TBIT...now back in T3?

Strange. The last LAX ticket i had read 24 Feb 2014 - 26 Feb 2014 I checked in at T3 and then walked across. Hopefully one off. LOS ANGELES, CA 21:50 TERMINAL 3

What happened to VA departure from TBIT...now back in T3?

Very short walk. The new lounge in TBIT is actually pretty nice. I rather preferred the business to the first class lounge (you have access if you are WP). Drink the first class drinks then walk out to the balcony if the weather is nice.

    Which first class?

This does raise an interesting point. I am leaning towards a qf/ek mix at the moment. Mainly due to the fact that the flight would likely bolster up my points enough to secure a trip in J to Europe next year. Although the departing times seem a bit strange to me. Especially if doing a QF/EK mix...

Why I would not work for Amazon

Microsoft is a strange one. Company policy is 6 hours+ for J travel unless you are departing from Australia. I guess because then every flight would be J for Australia staff. Which is a little mean.

Constant Priority Luggage Issues, Decay Of The VA Experience

I have strange experiences with it. Some times it comes out first. Although have had it come out last. 80% of the time its with in the first group. I have had times when i have come out dead last while the person i checked in with was first off. Could not explain that one.

Seat squatting in Exit Row Seats on International Flights

I was on a VA flight in a exit row where the flight attendants belted up the middle seats and added a sign. I asked to move seats later in the flight as i kept getting kicked by people waiting around the toilets. They said as i had paid for the exit row i could sit in the bank across from me...

Why I would not work for Amazon

Interesting are you sales or R&D? My company sets at 6 hours or y+ otherwise and since most of my travel is out of Australia then no problems there.

Why I would not work for Amazon

It depends on their life cycle. If they are a large company then J is mostly the standard. Think post IPO. Facebook/adobe/google(although googles program is a little strange meaning you could fly first if you regularly fly under your assigned travel budget). Medium sized companies that have a...
