SQ suites are a no brainer, but what makes the LH product so good?

I am leaning towards a mix of EK/QF at this stage. As i get to a) shower. b) try out two products. Although SQ is looking better and better. I can then use points to try out EY first at a later date.

I am with velocity. Already maintained platinum for this review period so no real worry there. Going for the best rather than worrying about FF points/status.

Ah yes! Forgot about that well put together post. By the sounds of things, better to pay for EK/QF then use points for a trip in EY at a later date!

I have to admit the shower is a huge draw card at this stage. As a virgin WP i am a little disappointed that EY was not even mentioned in this thread.

Wow! thanks for an amazingly detailed reply. Seems the ultimate way to do it would be to fly EK there and EY back :)

That is actually an idea that had not crossed my mind. Was also hoping for a comparison on things like SQ suites vs QF etc.

If money was no object. Europe was your destination. Which first class cabin would you travel in and why? Looking to do that once in a lifetime trip later this year and the choices are all so hard. So getting some feedback from some real world experiences seems to be the best way forward!

As a WP, this has been my experience as well. Few in Y and then Y+ on the return. Y was great, CSM introduced him self. No express path to talk of. Even when flying J. If you have a tight connection do not rely on the staff being helpful. Have been in that place from anywhere from 40 mins to 3 hours. It is never pleasant.

Not I. Will be transiting through on the 24th. Will have a day in transit(anyone around?) then off to ATL then to JAX. Back through to LAX on June 1st.

Had this happen a few times of late with j tickets on the syd-lax route. A quick call and all is usually ok. If you want a shadow best to ask at checkin for them to block to seat next to you if not a full load.

I have flown that route quiet a bit a handful of times with VA never with QF. The flights are mostly on time. The in flight entertainment is not as extensive as qantas but still will be more than enough to tide you over for the flight. The timing of the LAX->SYD flight means you are flying...

I have yet to find a solution for the eating unhealthy. Usually trips, especially OS ends up with me meeting with friends/co workers/managers etc which involves boozy lunches and dinners. Yeah. It was nothing special. Instead of the usual cheese and ranch dip they had some bagels and waffle like things. No toaster for the bagels which i found very strange.

First lounge(LAX) was no problem. Didn't even check my card just the status written on the boarding pass. Was the first run of their new updated lounge food, they had bagels and some pre made sandwiches.
