VA bringing baggage handling in BNE, SYD and MEL on both Domestic and Short Haul Int'l back in house.

You mean Virgin Australia. This has been part of the commitment for sometime to bring more services in house with unions.

    VA Cancellations, Delays growing?

Bain are probably doing bi-weekly checks at best, and most likely monthly and review board content etc. So many years down the track, pretty much hands off and left to the management team. After all that's why company's have a management team. Also, you are assuming they are going to to...

    VA Cancellations, Delays growing?

The media swing is definitely turning to the positivities at Qantas and the negativity at Virgin Australia over the last few months. For all the IPO commentators, with the economy and the currently VA issues, its a poor business state. I fail to see much traction happening in 2024.

Virgin to charge for Seat Selection - WP/SG Exempt

If you're doing that through the website, try through the mobile app and it normally works. That's been a strange quirk for a long time.

Virgin Australia to Reconfigure 737 Fleet - Spend $110M

VH-VUO is currently flying and has scheduled flight upcoming. How's it in progress? I'm surprised they are doing the VU* aircraft, I thought they would be exiting the fleet soonest.

    Velocity points flight on Etihad

Doesn't matter is you have no status or the highest status the is no difference in the hard product once on board , there's no special "economy", "premium economy", "business class" or "first class" which differs for those with status ;)

    VA Cancellations, Delays growing?

The initial complaint from the unions was crew being fatigued. The new deal includes extra bonus payments when working over 9 hours. Well, that's enticing fatigue with a cherry on top!

Anyone booked a flight on Booking.com before?

Booking.com is fine for hotels etc. The issue is booking flights. From what I can work out, gotogate was purchased by the company who owns and operates booking.com and they have simply incorporated it into booking.com without solving any of the underlying issues with gotogate.

Spend your Velocity points on everyday purchases?

But not everyone is as educated. If you are short for cash and have the points, you'd use the points.

Virgin Voyages Access Keys for 79,999 points on the Velocity Store

An odd suggestion, if you paid for the flights you wouldn't burn so many points. Plus you'd earn some points on the flight booking. Does that drum up your interest ?

What is Virgin Australia's strategy (post-administration)?

Looks like they have walked away (or lost) their VARA contract with Consolidated Minerals. Likey due to Woodie Woodie being serviced by F100’s and not able to handle the A320 / B737-700 ? https://australianaviation.com.au/2023/11/national-jet-express-lands-two-new-wa-fifo-contracts/

    FA forgets to serve meal!

Years ago any business complaint you would get 10,000 velocity points. I’ve only flown business class once with Qantas and they didn’t have my choice available and what they had I was allergic to. I said I was happy with an economy meal and they responded that they’re unable to offer the...

ACCC pressures Virgin to lift travel credit expiry [update - Virgin forced to extend]

To be honest, if you were issued a FFC this was issued towards the later part of 2020. They've been extended a few times and it's been the same rule of using and traveling by 31st December 2023 for a while, maybe almost a year or longer. They could have probably been used countless times, but...

Virgin Australia Boeing 737 Max 8

The article (which now seems to be paywalled) also mentioned the entire current 737-NG fleet will be fully decommissioned in favor of the MAX. Kind of obvious, but reflects they are going to stick with Boeing so expect ongoing new orders for the MAX.
