    Velocity Platinum Complimentary Upgrades

Which is the exact promotion they are running. Everything is devalued when a promotion ends. (Prior covid it was always a flexi fare with reward seat availability, there have been various promotions since covid.) I think must of us expect for this promotion to be changed so it's actually part...

    General Virgin Australia Lounge Discussion

Well at least there was food and drink. It's called a lounge because it's lounge / snack food. Go to a basic buffet and you'll notice similar there.

    ANA partnership with Virgin Australia

No (and it's $35). Though some people report they are lucky enough to get it waived. https://www.virginaustralia.com/au/en/travel-info/flying-with-us/fare-types/velocity-reward-seat/ Cancellations and refunds are permitted prior to the commencement of any travel. Cancellations must be...

Velocity 20% bonus points on transfers offer - November 2023 to January 2024

But The T&C's have never changed about when the bonus will be credited (as mentioned multiple times). https://www.velocityfrequentflyer.com/partners-offers/transfer-bonus "will be allocated the member's Velocity account by 29 February 2024"

    ANA partnership with Virgin Australia

I would assume their system should be able to handle it, and agree with your experience. It's pretty well known that Velocity asks for a Firstname, Middlename, Lastname (as three fields). Whereas on an international ticket they usually want "as per passport" which combines your Firstname...

PER T1 and T2: walk from airport terminal to train station

(Being located in Perth)... Yes, I feel it's a long time from the T1/T2 terminals to the train station. I allow myself between 10 - 15 minutes walking time from exiting the plane to get to the station (without baggage) depending on the gate. It feels a long way, there are travellators, but it...

Virgin Australia to Reconfigure 737 Fleet - Spend $110M

Same story for the MAX and the recent refurbished planes. I don't recall anyone saying the new divider has began the rollout stage. If they have, then I'm wrong.

Latest VA member survey to plan future "enhancements"

Nothing to do with private equity. Lots of airlines are modifying their cancellation policies. Cancellation costs are practically abolished in the USA. Virgin Australia's cancellation costs for long-haul international are reasonable. Qatar's cancellation / change policy if bought through them...

Virgin Australia to Reconfigure 737 Fleet - Spend $110M

Which is technically the refit (as it has the new seats) , though they need to modify the economy seating in line with the new layout and install the divider.

    Website is busy

Oh yeah ... Lol .... So I should have said, "looks like they did maintenance last night. Though I don't recall seeing a banner yesterday."

    They are doing maintenance tonight.

Bonus VA status credits offer - March 2024

Due to the covid status extensions, you'll find there's a high percentage of people who have a review date of 28th February. So it covers a status run and also covers if people want a boost at the start of the year. Also, March 28 mainly gets around giving the boost over Easter in part.

I noticed at the end of last week they had made modifications to the booking channel. There may have been some maintenance done.

    Velocity Baggage allowance

This is 100% correct. You need to remember that Virgin Australia is airline and Velocity is just frequent flyer. Submitting it via the Virgin Australia feedback form and selecting "Ground Crew" will go to the correct department. Sending via email to Velocity just means they have to forward it...

    General Virgin Australia Lounge Discussion

It was re-carpeted last year, along with all lounges. The Melbourne lounge was a "refresh" not a full renovation.

Bonus VA status credits offer - March 2024

Last year's DSC ran along the similar timeframe (up until 31st March). All what's changed is it's based on the number of flights taken. So there's no real surprise and I wouldn't be surprised if Qantas follow suit. I expect there will be a more normal DSC at the end of the year. Wind back to...

Seat Selection Denied - VA Codeshare Flight with Singapore Airlines

But usually code-share flights are more expensive and more problematic. This isn't limited to VA, though I agree with the frustrations.

    Velocity to partner with 7-Eleven

I think they could have came up with a better solution, such as when you price lock you have to use the price lock within 100km of the price locked fuel station or within a deemed "cluster". In Perth my local 7-11 can be 161.9 on a Tuesday and 219.9 the next day. So instead of price locking on...

Latest VA member survey to plan future "enhancements"

Too little, too late. Most probably these are NAB (ex Citibank) white label credit card and possibly NAB backed debit card. They should just rebrand Virgin Money credit and debit cards as Virgin Australia, otherwise it's confusing.
