Velocity introduces Forever Gold lifetime status tier

Going through my activity on the website for now from 1st January 2021, I've obtained a total of 3,784 Status Credits. Of which 2,485 from flying VA marketed flights myself and 1,299 from other sources. Fingers crossed I make the cut. In recent years my flying has been much lower than almost...

Major changes to Velocity Frequent Flyer announced 17/10/24

I'm glad you never mentioned Gold because Virgin / Velocity seem to offer that to everyone as trial.

Major changes to Velocity Frequent Flyer announced 17/10/24

I don't think I've seen anyone else make the comment. But really a lot of people with status have a review date of 28th Feb (due to the covid extensions). A way to try and achieve retaining status in the short term would be to lock in travel now / before booking date changes and complete...

    Virgin changing its fare structure

This seems to be for corporate accounts, not the general public or am I missing something?

Terrible experience with Virgin Australia and ignored at check-in

To be honest Perth airport for Virgin Australia, you just as well use the normal economy check-in. There's not even a manned priority check in counter usually, whilst it does exist.

Fraud on Velocity Frequent Flyer accounts

I'm surprised Velocity doesn't have MFA itself to log into the account.

Triple status credits on Virgin Australia

July is the next financial year and any revenue for July would be account for differently. It's no unusual for offers / specials around this time of year. With a lot of commentary around potential softening of airfares, to me this doesn't seem like any soft of a revenue pump.

    Economy X - row 5 B737.

Also to give all 737-800 and 737-700's a standard config instead of multiple configs.

Pets in the Cabin - Coming soon on Virgin Australia

Evacuation rules are that you leave hand luggage behind. This would include pets. As sad as it is that's the rules and the importance was highlighted in the recent Japan incident where most likely everyone survived because no-one took any luggage off board. (If they were in the cargo hold, it...

For me my points also didn't land. NAB, auto transfers. Have followed them up.

Jayne Hrdlicka to resign as CEO

Surely people who buy shares do exactly the same thing?

Jayne Hrdlicka to resign as CEO

Unsure what you mean. But it's publicly known they have all already received their investment back in full. If it's a profitable airline I had no idea why people think it will be sold. Just as well keep running it and make more $$$.

Virgin Australian "Trade Sale" - who would be best?

Why? They have failed with really every airline they have dabbled in. Essentially spun SilkAir back into the main airline and Scoot seems to be doing OK and probably because they allow a Scoot / SIA joint booking.

    VA Cancellations, Delays growing?

If VA didn't do this, there would be no competition on the route and the airfare on Qantas would go through the roof. It's not as if it's a long flight and the Saab is fine. Though each to their own.

    Velocity Platinum Complimentary Upgrades

When it gets installed. On the other page there's comments of delays getting approvals. Ideally they would have installed with the seating to refurb to save rolling to aircraft back in for engineering work. Aviation approvals are very slow. If I remember right, the last one or two a330's had...

    Velocity Platinum Complimentary Upgrades

Velocity is a separate company to Virgin Australia. It has it's own CEO, totally separate from the airline. (This was more highlighted when Virgin Australia went into administration and Velocity had given the airline a secured loan.) In terms of your comments around the business class...

Jayne Hrdlicka to resign as CEO

In terms of an airline that's pretty much nothing. That's almost a quarter of the capex spend on the new aircraft seating to put into perspective.

Jayne Hrdlicka to resign as CEO

To note, CEO's are appointed by the board. CEO's are not appointed by shareholders or noteholders in line with the ownership model of Virgin Australia.
