Will you still earn/retain Velocity status beyond 2025?

I wouldn't be overly surprised if they do something like spend $5,000 or more over a period to earn 1,000 VA status credits etc. There's going to be some frequent flyers who are close, but too far away to making Forever Gold on 1st October 2025. Offers like this make make it a wise investment.

Qatar Airways to acquire 25% of Virgin Australia

It's pretty likely that during negotiations for Qatar to purchase 25% they also wanted to be the exclusive partner airline. Therefore, they've had to put this into the application. That said, if the ACCC disagree to anything then it's down to Qatar and Virgin Australia and Bain to agree on...

How to get VA PNR for SQ Codeshare

If not on the PNR, then you need to call Singapore Airlines. It's easily missed when looking for it unfortunately as it doesn't always stand out.

How to get VA PNR for SQ Codeshare

Assume you booked on Singapore Airlines website? When you received your booking confirmation / e-ticket, the PDF should list the PNR for VA. This is common practice across all airlines which don't use the same booking platform.

    Velocity Platinum Complimentary Upgrades

You need to see a "Business Reward" seat available as the upgrade uses the availability of rewards seats when searching for points based bookings on the Virgin Australia booking website.

Credit Card Offers Refreshed Amex Velocity Platinum Card Benefits & Offers

As I'm located in Perth $440 annual fee still covers the return flight costs to Sydney or Melbourne, Adelaide maybe not so much. Plus with insurance it makes it more worthwhile. The issue with the lounge access is you probably you won't be able to invite a guest.

Qatar Airways to acquire 25% of Virgin Australia

Was having a think about the Qatar investment and the ACCC application. I'm wondering if Qatar being exclusive into regions which kicks out a number of partners such as Etihad, South African, Virgin Atlantic (?), limits Singapore Airlines maybe too much of a disadvantage. This may be a tactic...

Will you still earn/retain Velocity status beyond 2025?

Your article sums it up well. I'm now rarely flying domestically and now intentionally. VA's international code shares tend to be a joke with no seat selection and a lot more expensive. I'm hoping SIA or DL/VS may run status match promotion directly targeting Velocity. I doubt Qantas would...

    Targeted offers

Shame the offer is for points and not status credits (counted as VA earn). Sure a lot of us would prefer an influx of SC's until 1st October 2025 🧐

Qatar Airways to acquire 25% of Virgin Australia

I actually think EY will get booted when Qatar acquire 25% of Virgin Australia. Therefore, it's not in the program changes. When they get booted you may find that existing bookings will remain valid for Velocity benefits for a few months and in line with the Velocity SC changes. I think EY is...

Velocity introduces Forever Gold lifetime status tier

I received mine yesterday. 1729664808 I actually got the PDF statement and the tally from them. If I have a spare two hours I'd tally up the PDF version and see if they match lol.

Qatar Airways to acquire 25% of Virgin Australia

When VA was in administration a friend of mine worked for SQ. They kept saying bad things about Virgin and how SQ was unhappy with them and going to ditch them. I didn't expect SQ to ditch them and obviously the relationship remained and ramped back up. To me it seems Virgin and Qatar now have...

Velocity introduces Forever Gold lifetime status tier

I'm pretty sure there's only one chat agent. If there's a queue they will email the PDF statement, if there's no queue they will do the calculation then and there.

Velocity introduces Forever Gold lifetime status tier

Used to be a fan of row 3 and used to be annoyed getting to the toilet and always having to go to the back of the aircraft passing the carts etc. Sitting in or behind exit rows actually works better for me and never looked back.

Velocity introduces Forever Gold lifetime status tier

Email was (they replied back separating VA and non-VA): Membership Number : In light of the introduction of Forever Gold in October 2025, can you let me know my current status credit count since 1st February 2013. Many Thanks

Qatar Airways to acquire 25% of Virgin Australia

There were plenty of other bidders for Virgin when it when into administration. When Bain acquired Virgin Australia the USA partner was Delta and there were at no plans to switch to United. Also at this time, Singapore Airlines were a main partner with no plans of Qatar coming on board. How...

Qatar Airways to acquire 25% of Virgin Australia

I'm pretty sure that there was some commentary that Virgin and Qatar were doing a lot of talks with relevant parties prior to making this public. True or not we will never know. Time will tell.

Velocity introduces Forever Gold lifetime status tier

To me it more sounds you're upset you're not going to get Gold Forever. However, as it's new it's pretty obvious they are targeting their elite travelers without knowing. I emailed Velocity and got a response on my SC count. I'm close but around 2,500 SC's short on he VA requirement. I'll...
