I was reminded by the "lead" story upthread! On my way to yet another series of overseas pistol competitions and I was planning to load my ammo once I got there (using a US friends loading machines...One is only allowed 5kg of ammunition in checked baggage..which is barely enough for one...

I travel exclusively for target shooting competitions.. everything I have with me must be just about BATHED in primer/propellant residues....yet I have never had a problem with the swab tests... <shrug> I can only assume the residues from shooting are NOT the nitrates or whatever the machines...

That seems to be the case right now. Hope it changes soon...

Seems a bit odd.... if it was going slow enough to "trundle" to a stop... why eject? I can only assume there was a danger of an engine explosion??? Given how the pilots I know feel about the very THOUGHT of using a parachute I can only assume they had very good reason!

Have registered for 2 major competitions - in New Mexico and then British Columbia late August/early Sept 21. (Simply because registration opened this month, and if you wait even a month you are likely to miss out - they sell out, and quickly) These are both refundable or transferable...

Had a booking for 3, CBR-TSV for June this year..which ended up as a conditional credit. As soon as they opened up bookings for those credits online I had a look at replicating the trip for similar dates next year. I found that ALL the fares that were available for cash were also available...
