Got approved :) just waiting for the card now. Still unsure if closing an unused CC hurts my score or not. I checked, score dropped when closing CC, and score remained the same after approval for this card. Go figure.

I would think its some other reason. I have 5 CC's and I got approved for the ANZ one. Could it be because you applied too soon from your last one? I would check the reason, before applying for the FF Platinum with 65K bonus.
