Qantas Group Reducing services by effectively grounding 18 Aircraft due to Coronavirus

I took a refund of my return portion to Shanghai as the re-route fare difference to Singapore was $400. I grabbed a $80 fare on Air Asia instead. Qantas was not in the least bit helpful in all of this. 3 hours start to finish on chat.

Qantas Group Reducing services by effectively grounding 18 Aircraft due to Coronavirus

I have a QF flight to Shanghai on May 1st. It has now been changed to China Eastern. My orignal plan was for 2 days in Shanghai and then SQ down to Singapore for a day and then QF to SFO via BNE on May 4th. Now that Mainland China is a no go zone for US and Australian authorities, do you think...

Has anyone been impacted by the Coronavirus? Will travel insurance cover the costs if we wanted to cancel? Especially if the flights are with points.

Yes - but are there any travel insurance companies in Australia covering coronavirus medical costs? Especially since the WHO declaration

    Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan

Hi - yes this is an issue that has been around for years. The problem is that it needs a US phone number under contact details. Just enter some random US number like 360-555-1212 and then the booking will go ahead.

What is it with people/ PAX and lounge food

I brought my family to the Holiday Inn Express in Bali for the weekend and as you know they do have a pretty basic breakfast buffet. On this occasion, the hotel was full of group tourists from a country I shall not name with manners that are beyond description. On the first morning, we barely...

Fiji Airways ends Adelaide service [back in 2022]

They relied too much on ADL-NAN point to point traffic. When in fact Fiji Airways should have timed the Adelaide -NAN flights to connect with LAX / SFO services rather than the 15 hour stopover. Arrival in NAN was around 6AM connecting at 9 or 10PM to West coast USA. A lost opportunity.

Fiji Airways ends Adelaide service [back in 2022]

Effective July 20th, service to Adelaide ends. I just got off the line with Fiji Airways. I have been given the choice of a full refund or re-route via Melbourne with FJ connecting me with ADL-MEL QF flights.

    Scheduled Airline Failure Insurance

I will continue to look at each PDS from insurance companies bit by bit and list here what I find. I am only looking at multi-trip travel insurance coverage. I am not in anyway endorsing any company here, just listing what I find to assist others who may wish to be covered. I was actually very...

    Scheduled Airline Failure Insurance

I am concerned about the possible end of Jet Airways and therefore started to look at my travel insurance policy from Southern Cross. It explicitly states that failure of airline to provide service due to financial halt of airline is not covered. Can someone tell me what company in Australia...

    Priority checkin

Well this "Rabble" went straight to the front last week. Upon arrival at Adelaide airport I went to line up at the International Connection line. I do not have any Qantas status (MVP Gold 75K Alaska) so I cannot use the "Priority Lane." There were 9 people lined up at the Priority lane and only...

Australian / Canadian citizen YVR-LAX-SYD Agent tears up my BP!

I am totally confused and I think I was just a victim of "aero visa confusion." My boarding passes went from "Now you see it, now you don't, now you see it again ......... I am a Canadian / Australian citizen with two passports. This morning I checked in at YVR for my flight to LAX with...

    Adelaide to Fiji direct

I am very happy to see another airline add Adelaide to their international network. Too bad Qantas does not add Adelaide. Adelaide - Nan - HNL next month - yay! 737 all the way - eek!

I think the Manila Airport Authority is still waiting on Qantas to pay a huge transfer fee (aka bribe).

Ayers Rock / Uluru - not open for Aussies??

My family and I lived in a remote community 3hrs west of Uluru and therefore Uluru was our local town for doing our grocery shopping and eating out. I concur with the prices being expensive but they are actually cheaper than the remoter towns. We rarely stayed overnight but always jumped in...

    DENPASAR TRANSIT and FEES (EXPENSIVE)

My family and I just returned from a trip from Australia to the Philippines via DPS (Bali). We changed planes from Jetstar to Cebu Pacific (same day). However we were told that we had to get a Visa on Arrival, collect bags and check in again. While this is not in itself unusual when changing...

Garuda granted a 5-Star Airline by Skytrax,

I still remember running across the tarmac in Indonesia to get a seat way back in 1988 as there was no guarantee a seat would be available due to no boarding passes being printed. Scare-ruda got me into Bali but my bags didn't arrive until next flight.
