Virgin Australia Pick Your Bonus Promo - Double Points or Status Credits - Ends 13 June 2025

I'm way closer to FG than I thought I would be. 75% of the way there. Sadly I have only 4000 SCs from VA marketed and/or operated flights so would need 5000 SCs more. The 9000 SC qualifier is too high given VA's INT and DOM network. I'll end up getting 13000+ SCs to get the 12000 needed for FG.

They don't but they sell their own. Accordingly, I'm not overly perturbed that I didn't get it on my Explorer or wife's Vel Plat.

    What cheeses me off

I'm another who thought it odd and didn't know that an insurance company can cancel your rego, especially considering insurance over and above MAI/CTP collected as part of vehicle registration, is not mandatory. But most concerning is that if an insurance company cancels your rego, then your...

Complimentary credit card travel insurances - Any adequate ones?

You'll be covered for the first $5000 of the $5900 with your credit card policy which means that you'll have to pay the other $900. Should be easy to compare that with what you'll pay in premium and excess for the separate policy.

Are the days of Points collecting over?

The game has been slowly dying for non-business owners for many years now. There are still some opportunities to earn decent points but the opportunity and value to redeem has diminished at a greater rate. Many have reasonably concluded that the juice is barely worth the squeeze.

Who else still holds the Citibank Free For Life Premier Card?

Just a reminder that it's June and time to do the second round of pay $20/get 5000pts offer.

I seemed to have missed out on an actual perk this month but I have been offered 15x points on all party products at Big W. Trash.

    What cheeses me off

I recall comedy sketch shows like Fast Forward had a lot of material about bank repossessions and mortgagees owing more now than when they took out the loan.

China - Tibet Autonomous Region and a bit of Japan on the way home

Enjoying this TR a lot @Matt_01. Great photos. I haven't been to and can't think of a more magnificent building on the planet than the Potala Palace. It knocked the Taj Mahal, which usurped the Angkor Wat, from top spot in terms of WOW! in my personal list.

It's possible it's more related to a legal issue and may be mandated by the referee's firm, rather than a reflection on the candidate. If a candidate fails to live up to the reference or is none too positive in the reference, the referee may be on the hook. Faced with a "damned if you do...

Gone in 5 days: My Award Travel Heist

I think a long weekend in Birmingham from CBR is the strangest thing I've ever read here. I also thought QR F awards out of Aus were not available, or does that not apply to "last minute" departures?

Anyone used WAYMO driverless cars in Los Angeles?

Saw a FB/TT post about one in China by two Western Sydney bogans who may have been on their first trip anywhere such was their over-the-top enthusiastic yet naive presenting style. Only other memorable thing was the cost, which was incredibly cheap, apparently. I'd give it a whirl. Not that...

    Made any travel mistakes lately?

I think there is a requirement to transfer over the rego but we've been here for only ten years - who's to say that we're moving here permanently? We have a house in VIC too and use that as the rego address. A bit like hire car companies I guess. We don't keep it registered interstate to...

    Made any travel mistakes lately?

Understood but through no fault of their own, the hotel and then Hertz caused @jastel some loss (which may have been rectified). It also demonstrates that the company issuing the invoice can obtain rego details and send their invoice (which will look like a ticket) to the registered owner. Or...

That sure is garbage. Show them a vid of your swing to dismiss their theory? Disgusting that a refund wasn't offered as per Consumer rights.

    Made any travel mistakes lately?

I don't know much about the parking system but if there's a third-party, law unto their own company dishing out tickets on behalf of the Hotel, then the Hotel has an obligation to ensure the guest is fully aware of the parking regulations and that guest's vehicles are correctly entered into the...

That's good to know. I had to laugh when I noticed a Laithwaites logo on the Virgin site though. I didn't get around to purchasing the Virgin offer but when I went to buy I couldn't top up to get over $150 as it takes you to a deal-specific page. And the offer can't be put in the cart on the...
