    Strategy to obtain US Amex

Hi haven’t moved to the new address yet. I’m waiting for it to register then I’ll do the USPS compliance. Might be an idea to wait until HSBC issues a statement with the new address on it … just in case. Though DP shared earlier suggests that’s not necessarily. I’m planning to apply for C1 as...

    Strategy to obtain US Amex

That mirrors my experience. I did manage to get a refund of my balance in my C1 checking account which included the account opening bonus. I got it transferred to another checking account. They took their time and I received a cheque which I was able to deposit into another checking account at...

    Strategy to obtain US Amex

I’m moving to Manhattan. I’ve tested out the address with C1 and it didn’t spit the dummy for a CC application so I’ll try this & see where it goes. I couldn’t get a handle on forwarding costs though. I’ll have to suck it and see I guess.

    Strategy to obtain US Amex

I’m finding myUS extortionately expensive as well. I have 3 letters that have arrived and they’re quoting $US46 to forward them. I understand they’re not a charity but that’s like $A68 for 3 envelopes. I think that’s taking the Mickey out of customers. The service is a convenience which must...

    Strategy to obtain US Amex

Thanks for the heads up. I will wait until my move is complete before taking my application to completion.

    Strategy to obtain US Amex

I'm in the process of relocating from Sarasota. I was going to hold off putting My C1 application as the address has passed muster with C1 in their "pre-approval" tool. Do they ask for address verification etc to get to the end of the application? If so, I'll cool my heels and change my HSBC...

Amex Centurion Card eligibility in Australia

I reckon it’s worth reaching out to the servicing number on the back of your card and asking the question. My understanding was that you can ask for a product transfer as long as it was the same credit type(eg charge card to charge card, credit to credit) as Amex’s credit risk doesn’t change...

Amex Centurion Card eligibility in Australia

When you say they’ve blocked you from Amex Platinum is that via the application process? Have you tried getting them to do a product transfer to another charge card like the Business Platinum? Not as ‘generous’ as the personal in terms of perks & the AF is much higher, though the earn rate is...

Amex Centurion Card eligibility in Australia

I agree the MrPorter credit was good (but small but beggars can’t be choosers) though it’s been gone for a while now. The Blacklane benefit that’s replaced it is pretty Meh! I’m guessing the take up won’t be as much. There is varying experience with all the credits. YMMV.

Amex Centurion Card eligibility in Australia

Got the email today notifying about the change of email address for my RM. Gave her a call & she confirmed all stays the same & the email was poorly worded. I still think just a matter of time before it becomes self serve like Platinum has now become.

    Strategy to obtain US Amex

I’ve been using my Citi US card in AU for years and it’s worked well with both ApplePay and the physical card. I did try to buy $2500 worth of Apple gift cards at the supermarket to buy a computer and that transaction was blocked. I managed to unblock the card easily. I bought the Apple Card’s...

Amex Centurion Card eligibility in Australia

Do share. Sounds like the voice of experience. I’m a self directed traveler so I don’t expect to see much and haven’t :(

Amex Centurion Card eligibility in Australia

It’s not all it’s cracked up to be. I got mine when they had the ‘classic’ design with the numbers embossed on the front. Those cards came from the UK was quite impressive though the packaging like you say for the Platinum is more elaborate. Enjoy the Centurion journey :) How ru finding it so far?

ACCC defeated; Suncorp-ANZ merger approved by Australian Competition Tribunal

I think they're all very noble undertakings which ANZ was forced to adopt - I'm not sure if it's worth 2 years of gridlock and uncertainty to get there. Clearly Suncorp came to the view their banking operation wasn't a good fit for them and ANZ saw value in it - particularly as they've fallen...

ACCC defeated; Suncorp-ANZ merger approved by Australian Competition Tribunal

Amazing, it took 2 years to get to this stage. No wonder things aren’t going so well … It takes so long to get there. Further concentration of banking power isn’t necessarily great for consumers but tying this transaction that made sense up for 2 years just for the sake of trying to right past...

    Strategy to obtain US Amex

I don't think there are apart from the address itself. Try to get the HSBC US Premier MasterCard if you can through your US RM. As a product, it doesn't rate highly for me but may help you in other areas. I got a decent limit and they didn't ask me any personal questions. YMMV.

    Strategy to obtain US Amex

ok - thanks for the heads up - makes sense - especially from an address verification perspective. I tested out the new address with C1 and didn't get any issues so am chomping at the bit to proceed but I think it's best to have that aspect covered off and ensure the move goes smoothly.

    Strategy to obtain US Amex

I've had the same US address for a long time. Was thinking of moving. How long should I wait after I move addresses before making further CC applications? I'm thinking of C1 in particular. Any DPs would be greatly appreciated :)

    David Jones: AMEX to Latitude

Thanks for the heads up. I think I'll cool my heels while I wait. Sounds like we have another inept organisation on par with Citi on our hands.

    David Jones: AMEX to Latitude

Hi Guys, I'm sorry if this has been mentioned elsewhere and I've missed it. I looked on the DJS card site and was none the wiser about it. I called them just now and spoke with a gentleman who was clearly in an offshore call centre and didn't know what I was asking. Do we have any information...
