Dones out of Bali or KUL

Has anyone purchased a DONE 3 out of Kul or Bali this year (from Australia)? Given prices out of Per to either spot, I'm guessing you could still get Plat points at a much lower cost per point than my ex Aus Done 4 plans. I seem to remember someone mentioned about using the CX office in...

    Big development! Qantas seat selection!

Mrs Roo and I often end up in different seats, but have always ended up together. Even the odd occasion when the staff haven't come through before boarding, the kindness of strangers has come to the fore agreeing to swap.

    AirAsia Sale(s)

PER-KUL-PER always seem to be about 75%, and on "sale" every month. . I use them heaps, and happily pay for hotseats rather than PE. I've lost a few tickets as they're not real easy to change, but it's chumpmoney anyhow.

I've booked Hotels through them. No problems.

    A warning for drinkers.

Prohibition didn't work the first time they tried it! Strange how Europeans can manage to drink a glass of wine with every meal without becoming drunken slobs (and no, I don't consider Poms to be European)

    Flight attendant 'hunted down teenager'

Trial by media savvy mother going on here. It would be very interesting to know if FA is say 20, and the young lady in question had been flirting with him. Ever tried to guess a young ladies age these days with war paint, clothes etc? If the young man in question has still tried to get in...

How much does immigration know about your trips overseas?

I'm another to have pleasant experiences with UK Immigration and shockers with LAX. PER and SVO are probably up there at No; 2 and 3 for worst (SVO ranking lower due to the fact I'm not blind yet ;) )

Reimbursement of Expenses for Delayed Baggage on Qantas Flight

I arrived into Brisbane International on Qantas from LAX minus my checked in bag last year. The airport baggage staff tried to tell me I wasn't eligible for compensation/emergency money as I was "home". As my Australian home is in WA, I stood my ground and demanded the cash before I left. They...

What is the best way of getting into USA with criminal history

You get caught lying and you'll never have a chance at residency! Criminal records can be exchanged between US and Australian Authorities, and you will have to provide a copy of your Police records as part of your paperwork. So, ask an Immigration Lawyer as wise heads here have advised you...

Jobs that have the highest call for travel...

There's plenty of blue collar "fly in/out" types here as well as the Business folks. Pretty easy to rack up miles on 2 weeks on/off! (but they're not always appreciated in the QP's where some of us are trying to work, or relax in peace) Personally, I'm in the Remote Medical business, so plenty...

    considering this DONE 2010

Thanks for the responses. In regards to an Australian stopover, BNE was the only one, SYD was just transfer. Having flown QF107 before I am aware that it counts as one leg and doesn't cost you your single transcontinental. Good thought about swapping LAX and LAS and it should work for my...

    Hi Group, I asking for feedback on the following Done4 leaving from PER july 29. J Class (D?), partly SC run, partly need (LAS,SVX) otherwise, here we go: PER-BNE QF652 BNE-SYD QF503 SYD-JFK QF107 JFK-LAX AA185 LAX-LAS AA741 LAS-ORD AA538 ORD-ANC AA291 ANC-ORD AA290 ORD-AMM AA7202...

Unlucky or was my method flawed?

This whole points issue is as close to being a scam as it's possible to go. They "pretend" you have "currency", and then "pretend" you can "spend" it! We have had a fairly good run lately with the downturn in J and F tickets, but I'm seeing it change in the last few weeks as things seem to...

Securing an infant in flight (in J)

DeDe you're hilarious. But why the concerns re night flights with a kid? My son has slept brilliantly on his long haul Europe/Asia flights in the cot when he was small enough, and across 2 seats now he's a toddler. And no, I don't use Phenergan!

Unlucky or was my method flawed?

Given that there is NO chance to sell a PE or J seat within 45-60mins of the flight (try and get through LAX security under that time!), I still do not understand why Qantas refuse to give upgrades. Our points are a "debt" they owe us, and we want to spend them. Nothing p#@s's me off more than...

    Travelex - Currency Conversion

Travelex are going to cost you a hell of a lot more than 1.5% for your CC. Have you checked their charges and transaction rates? How do I spell "ripped off" again?
