Delay on QF71 PER-SIN today due to a fault with the cabin lighting. Apparently replaced part and then reprogrammed the lights. Departing about 1PM instead of the scheduled 12:15PM. EDIT: and now we had a failed engine start. Taxi back to gate to investigate.

QF12 from LAX-SYD was about an hour late yesterday [apparently due to late arrivals into LAX], missed most of the immediate connections (Perth, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide, Wagga Wagga, etc) so everyone was rebooked.

American Airlines also have "Main Cabin Extra" which is premium economy-ish. mostly leg room I think. Qantas Premium Economy is pretty reasonable. I'd check that out. Same seats as the 737 business class (non lie flat)
