Qantas Business Class meals & menus

I think I generally agree, and I personally have no trouble with such an approach on Asian carriers (since I love the vast majority of Asian food), however as we found out earlier in this thread sometimes people can be quite picky with what food they want, so having just one option does sorta...

Qantas Business Class meals & menus

I agree that Euro business usually has pretty good food quality, but in my experience on these <2h flights with BA, Finnair, and KLM they usually only have one food option, which I'm really not a fan of. At least Qantas will offer 2 or 3 options on these flights, with at least one hot.

    Qantas Customer Remediation Program

I'm pretty sure Deloitte has used the same IT system for previous programs, so I'm surprised something as simple as attaching two case numbers to one account is unsupported. Anyway, it sounds like their call center staff has had about as much training as Qantas' outsourced call centers

The definitive thread on Qantas IT gripes

Yeah, although technically discount Y SYD-MEL earns only 400, it's just the Minimum Points Guarantee applies and brings that up to 800

The definitive thread on Qantas IT gripes

The source of truth is really the earning tables: https://www.qantas.com/au/en/frequent-flyer/earn-points/airline-earning-tables/partner-airline-earning-tables.html. I reference these instead of using the calculator for everything but QF flights. GMP-HND will earn 10/20/40 status credits...

    Bargain Cathay Pacific Premium Economy

Yeah, I'm a good fan of CX PE pricing. I've paid about +$200 over economy (and ~= QF economy) for CX PE to Japan a few times. The other benefit of CX PE over Y is that they'll always earn at "Flexible Economy" or "Premium Economy" rates to QFF, as opposed to regular CX Econ which is a coughshoot.

Qantas Hotels no longer supplying Tax Invoices

In the past, my emails all say "Your tax invoice is attached to this email". Do yours (which are missing the tax invoice) still say this, or has that text been removed?

Qantas Hotels no longer supplying Tax Invoices

I wonder if this is an intentional change on their part, or whether it's just classic coughpy Qantas IT and customer service agents making up something even if they don't fully know the answer just to get you off the line. Probably the latter, and certainly not the first time we've had Qantas IT...

Linking JAL flight to Qantas Account

Unlikely to credit as 20 SCs unless the base fare you booked was near full fare economy. Most likely you got Discount Economy + Surcharge, which would give you 10 SCs

Double Status Credits promotion (Book by 27/2/24, travel 28/2/24-14/2/25)

After another round of back and forth emails and quoting the FAQs on the DSC promo page explicitly, my DSCs have finally been credited.

    Lounge Access Help Desk

The only thing is that per the table, note 2 only applies when the Platinum member is flying an Emirates flight number. In this instance, the Platinum member is flying the Qantas flight number. I assume this is an oversight on the website though.

    Qantas Customer Remediation Program

If it's zeroed out, they aren't selling tickets on it (I assume so anyway - unless the Qantas website was letting you buy tickets on flights that were zeroed in the GDS?), so I assume it's not the issue covered by this action. I agree it's annoying that the affected flights aren't published. I...

JAL 777-300ER back on Sydney route

Dunno what happened to this Reddit user then. All JL51 up till the end of of February are not zeroed, so it seems unlikely that they would've cancelled their flight.

Narita to Haneda stopover From Melbourne to New York

With award flights, I think Qantas will show anything that meets the operating airline/transit airports minimum connection time.

    Qantas vs Cathay Y MEL-HKG?

This I actually disagree with. Cathay's entertainment system is generally better, but Qantas IFE is pretty good, especially when it comes to including whole seasons of shows and not just 3 random episodes.

I do wonder if the SQ partnership will remain if QR takes a stake in VA.

    Qantas Platinum One experiences?

Are you sure these count towards the 2700? I thought it just counts towards the rest.

Qantas premium economy is a bit tired

Personally, I like the way the footrest is setup. Agreed that 38" pitch shouldn't be acceptable for PE - needs at least 40". IIRC think the A380 version of this seat doesn't have airbags

Qantas premium economy is a bit tired

Given the footrest coming down during an emergency landing on the aisle seat can block egress for the window seat, I'd assume it's a safety requirement that they stay locked
