How to make enemies...! [by weighing carry-on]

Sure 10.3kg, I thought it was about 7 or 8. I would have checked it in but mum gave me a heap of preserves and I had images of various types of jam in my clothes!

How to make enemies...! [by weighing carry-on]

Weighed today on a 737 from CBR-MEL. It was frustrating, I got caught out and that's on me (should have read this thread before). In future I will carry a spare bag and take 2 bags. It seems that QF are trying to solve one problem but creating another entirely. I fully recognise that I was in...

    Car hire for dummies?

Thank you will check these out. I'm 34, my partner is 26 so we should be ok there. I have just taken public transport when I have travelled in the past. Duly noted on the one way charges. I imagine we will be heading back to Launceston.

    Car hire for dummies?

Hello everyone, Could I please get your advice? I am looking at hiring a car in Tassie for 2-3 days in early January. However, I have never hired a car before. Are there any hints or tips that I should be aware of? Any particular sites? We'd pick up in Launnie and then ideally drop off in...

Hidden Boarding Pass in Velocity Account

Slightly off topic, but personal favourites? I quite enjoyed Banda Aceh and Dili. Yogyakarta is on the list but i am always open to ideas.

    AVV: D7 commencement and potential

It would have to be a very, very good deal for mine. Living in the Eastern Suburbs the journey is an extra 45 kilometres and 25 minutes in smooth traffic for me.

Shout out of thanks to cabin manager QF118 22/11

I had the same thing happen last year on check in for PEK-SYD. I'd gone to Beijing for a long weekend to see if i wanted to go back into working internationally (i didn't - those 12 hour trips in Y were agony) and asked about an upgrade. As my ticket was non-upgradeable i couldn't but the agent...

    Coffee vs Tea on Qantas

Same same. I refuse to touch hot water on a plane after getting horrendously ill after drinking coffee on a Jetstar international flight.

    Issues with TripIt

I was travelling in the Middle East for work and found that it struggled a bit with accommodation. I also much prefer Tripcase's push notification for delays. They seem to work much better for me. (I say this sitting in Langkawi airport having just been advised that my flight is delayed again!)

    Issues with TripIt

I admit, I gave up on TripIt and switched to TripCase. I haven't had too many issues and prefer it to TripIt.

Veterans to receive Priority Boarding & "thank you for your service"

Why not look at the possibility of giving passengers the opportunity of making a tax deductible donation to a suitable organisation in the booking process. Something that might lead to an actual benefit as opposed to an empty platitude said umpteen times a day. This proposal just seems so...

Chiang Mai vs. Penang - a Short Term Stay

Very, there's probably about a dozen western chain hotels within 2km of each side of the town. Had a bustling little night market each night as well. We also had two very good affordable meals in small mum and pop restaurants, but it's Penang, everything is good. One question which Gold60...

Chiang Mai vs. Penang - a Short Term Stay

I can't speak for Chiang Mai but my girlfriend and I loved Penang and thought that we could live there. Although more touristy we stayed in Batu Ferrenghi which is on the north coast. Bus 101 (Bus 101 Rapid Penang Ruote - Penang Island) runs every 10 minutes or so along the road into town and on...

    Where to stay in Langkawi?

Hi everyone, I was wondering if anyone had any recommendations for an overnight in Langkawi? I am doing a status run and am looking for somewhere central that won't blow the budget, whilst also giving me a good base for a day of sightseeing. Grateful for any and all thoughts.
