    Qantas Delays/Cancellations

On Saturday 22 March, A388 VH-OQA took off from CDG as QF1D at 1208 hours with suggested gate arrival 1158 at LHR. Hard to see how it will make curfew in Sydney tomorrow night if it say departs LHR at 1415 local time this afternoon.

    Qantas Delays/Cancellations

On Saturday 22 March, the 1915 hours PER-LHR is expected to depart at midnight, 275 minutes late. The Friday 21 same flight had B789 VH-ZNK, arriving LHR at 0557 hours, 52 late to a reopened Heathrow. Given the problems in London, the Sunday 23 QF1 is predicted to depart SYD at 0630 hours on...

Will full recline beds ever be feasible for economy class?

LH once had a design made, but nothing came of it.

    The Kangaroo route

As highlighted in the delays/cancellations thread, QF has many problems with its A333s and A332s. I don't understand how the airline can justify taking one on a charter for two weeks when often enough it struggles to have a serviceable aircraft available for every scheduled 'normal' flight.

    Airfares to US to drop?

Many Australians would agree that Donald Trump's social policies are pleasing, such as the creation of DOGE, although some economic policies of his are not. It's not that putting me off: it's the terrible exchange rate. When I first travelled to the USA years ago, our dollar was worth $1.15...

Qantas is parotting other sources: Customers (sic) are advised not to travel to the airport. ------------------ So if there's buses organised to take passengers to Paris CDG, they won't be departing from outside LHR.

LHR shutdown due to substation fire Friday 21 March

But they'll presumably be travelling overnight on a road coach and ferry (assuming they can't get a flight from another London airport to CDG or other Parisian airport.) Fatigue would set in.

LHR shutdown due to substation fire Friday 21 March

Maybe not as "easy" as you claim! Heathrow tunnel, M4 spur and A312 Hayes bypass closed. The Elizabeth line (used by many to get to/from LHR) does not have any trains running between Hayes & Harlington and the airport due to the substation fire. Heathrow Express has cancelled all trains...

LHR shutdown due to substation fire Friday 21 March

I wonder how for say tonight's QF2 passengers will all know where to assemble to board buses that would then go by ferry across the English Channel? Booked passengers could be anywhere. And the pilots and cabin crew for QF2 would of course be in London and environs, not Paris.

LHR shutdown due to substation fire Friday 21 March

Eurostar is often booked out in normal circumstances, as the vast majority (IIRC >80 per cent) of travel between London and Paris is by it not the airlines. It also serves Lille (France, Brussels and recently resumed operating to Amsterdam after railway station works concluded. I've travelled...

From the PR website, departing SYD on Monday 19 May and LAX on Monday 2 June, the J return fare is A$4,999.02. Travel is naturally via MNL so it has a time penalty compared with flying nonstop, but it's a big saving.

Best business class flight ever on Air France

As AF sometimes has very competitive fares on its recently recommenced MNL-CDG route (the best fares are to LHR or other European cities), this is useful feedback even though its a Schengen journey. Well posted.
