Yep gave me a laugh the last time I was in the USA when someone saw the clock on my phone screen and commented "wow your phone is in military time" The UK and Europe are the opposite, everywhere uses 24 hour time. Australia seems to be about half way in between.

This is a very common scam in airports all over the world, the fake taxi drivers will try to solicit people in the baggage claim area. There's lots of warnings in the news and travel sites etc
