ABC 4 Corners on Qantas - Monday 5 September

I agree, but those once cheap RyanAir & EasyJet fares have mostly disappeared since the pandemic, and airlines (BA in particular) were denying EU261 compensation claims, telling customers the COVID-19 pandemic was an "extraordinary circumstance" which meant they were not entitled to EU...

Qantas Neighbour Free seating: Worth paying for?

If the young girl was an unaccompanied minor, I think there's a rule about where they can sit and who they can sit next to, and perhaps why the FA was paying close attention to her and promptly spotted her move.

ABC 4 Corners on Qantas - Monday 5 September

It sends a message to the other journalists in the room, they won't want to risk the same happening to them so they'll avoid asking any similarly tough questions.

Qantas Neighbour Free seating: Worth paying for?

Still better than where the UK and European airlines have ended up though. Paying extra to have an empty middle seat next to you is basically the definition of what passes for Business Class on short-haul narrowbody flights in Europe.

Flight delayed, lose access to boarding pass in app

It seems to be Australia only as far as I can tell. Certainly while flying around the UK and Europe, cabin crew look at you very oddly if you present your boarding pass to them. They either think you're an idiot who's asking for extra help to find their seat, or as a frequent flyer they think...

Qantas apologises to frequent flyers with status extensions, lounge passes, points & more reward seats

It's an expectation thing. People rightly or wrongly are expecting JQ or VA will have issues and be difficult to deal with. So it's not really news when those expectations are met. On the other hand, most of Australia expects Qantas won't ever have those issues, so it becomes news when they do.

Qantas apologises to frequent flyers with status extensions, lounge passes, points & more reward seats

Agree, the discussion about QF's higher fares targeting a 'different type of customer' seems to have missed a key reason many are willing to pay the higher fares on Qantas over the cheaper competitors - the perception that these are premium prices because you get a premium service, and for many...

Qantas apologises to frequent flyers with status extensions, lounge passes, points & more reward seats

I've just received the email from Qantas as an overseas based WP. The email just confirms my previous status extension and the rollover of up to 500 SC, and notes more classic reward seats are now available to use the points I've been saving. No apology to us - no mention of any points or...

Qantas apologises to frequent flyers with status extensions, lounge passes, points & more reward seats

Sample size of 2, but would seem like the emails (and offers) were only sent to QFF members based in AU/NZ. Wondering if that was intentional (since it won't make the news in the international press), or an accidental omission or QF IT error... Thanks, so there's no obvious exclusion of...

Qantas apologises to frequent flyers with status extensions, lounge passes, points & more reward seats

I'm Platinum but I didn't receive the points email, and wondering if it's because my profile has a UK address. Can someone who go the email check the T&C's to see if it says only for members currently living in Australia?

Qantas apologises to frequent flyers with status extensions, lounge passes, points & more reward seats

Or if you're not based in Australia, it seems you get 0 points? At least I've not yet received an email or offer in my app as a UK-based WP. Perhaps it's because I've requalified already without the status support?

Does it make sense to buy Qantas points?

Apologies I didn't mean for it to be taken as a serious question or offer, I actually didn't think it was possible! Was my lighthearted way of conveying how useless I feel my Qantas points are lately. Hopefully today's announcement about more reward seat availability will help change that.

Qantas apologises to frequent flyers with status extensions, lounge passes, points & more reward seats

I'm also not sure what to think about another status extension, having retained Platinum this year through flying (and the head-start of last year's rollover / SC boost). If I knew in advance that it was going to be extended again for another year, I would have credited all the last 2 year's...

Qantas apologises to frequent flyers with status extensions, lounge passes, points & more reward seats

Certainly didn't suit them during the pandemic, most of the Aussies stuck overseas were eventually brought home by the likes of SQ or EK.

Does it make sense to buy Qantas points?

Can I sell you my points? They're pretty useless to me lately, can't seem to redeem them for flights anymore, can only use them for upgrades if flying QF metal which I rarely do anymore.

Who else has to regularly chase up Qantas for points & status credits owed....

I was made to jump through similar hoops for a couple of BA flights that I didn't have the boarding passes for. BA actually have a simple webform to request a proof letter which they'll email to you as a PDF and you can forward that on to QFF.

Who else has to regularly chase up Qantas for points & status credits owed....

I've needed to make a lot of claims over the past year, and I was perhaps too patient for a lot of them. I've now realised if I haven't had a response to a claim email within a week I'm probably never getting one. Emailing the same request again months later has then occasionally worked for me...

Who else has to regularly chase up Qantas for points & status credits owed....

2 of my Iberia flights from February posted yesterday.. QFF sent me a rather unhelpful and slightly passive aggressive reply email today (to an email from weeks ago) saying my claim was not necessary because the points "had already been successfully credited" and telling me how to view my...

Free ALL Gold Status for QF Silver or above - also Points Club Plus

So I didn't receive an invitation email, but found out about this offer via AFF and the link to the form on Qantas website. I was able to register on that and got a confirmation email saying ALL Gold status is coming my way, so fingers crossed... I'll check back in a month to see if it worked.
