Global CrowdStrike IT outage impacting airports and more

Isn't Navitaire hosted by Amadeus? I'm surprised that they're unable to restore their hosted service

Global CrowdStrike IT outage impacting airports and more

There's piles of B2B software like CrowdStrike that everybody uses but you'd never come across in your day to day.

Global CrowdStrike IT outage impacting airports and more

Sounds like a great time to distribute some malware whilst people are disabling the CrowdStrike kernel driver

Qantas Project Sunrise goes ahead, 12 new A350-1000s ordered

I never have any issue with the friendliness etc. of Qantas crew. What I do often have a problem with (and it's probably not entirely the fault of the crew per se, could be how many crew Qantas decides to allocate etc.) is how LONG meal services take. This is especially annoying on the sub-9hr...

Qantas Project Sunrise goes ahead, 12 new A350-1000s ordered

Isn't the point of the A350 & Project Sunrise so that you don't have to go via. Perth? So like any other flight ever? Unless you mean they should keep the lights off for the full 17 hours which... I mean... I could probably deal with that in J, but it would be quite painful in W and Y (not that...

Qantas Project Sunrise goes ahead, 12 new A350-1000s ordered

It seems that the aircraft purchasing / refurbishment planning (or lack thereof) over the past 10 years means they have to keep publishing press releases talking about the exact same planes that are still a few years away from delivery, instead of actually announcing new aircraft or products.

Qantas Hotels no longer supplying Tax Invoices

I thought Hooroo delt with some Australian hotels directly?

Qantas Hotels no longer supplying Tax Invoices

I wonder if it depends if the booking goes through Expedia or that other Qantas-owned company that handles some of their Australian hotels

Virgin Australia Business Class - Meals, Menus & Service

Nah, that's a fair point. I guess it's just not what I'd like for breakfast so this is more a complaint about only getting one option. Evidently the other pax thought the same though and picked the other option 😉

Need help choosing which program to transfer points to, for someone moving to Australia soon!

Do beware of the surcharges & fees when redeeming EK, even if they still are the easiest option to DXB

Union condemns inadequate conditions on NJE chartered flight

Is this something that would normally cause an aircraft to divert? They definitely could've diverted to Melbourne or Adelaide (where I believe NJE has a base) if they ran out of water at just 30 minutes.

Qantas lounge access on arrival now limited to 60 minutes?

Most of the time I just flash the boarding pass and they don't really scan or read it, so I suspect it depends whether they look closely

Virgin livery on Christmas Island Stamp

I think it was likely a mistake by the artist, and it was either too late or too costly to correct. I highly doubt it was intentional. Perhaps they were searching up "Virgin logo", "Virgin aircraft tail" etc. to get reference images for their drawing, not realising that they're looking at the...

Qantas lounge access on arrival now limited to 60 minutes?

I mean to be fair if you asked me whether accessing the lounge 4h30m after your flights counts as "after arrival", I'd say no.

Qantas Project Sunrise goes ahead, 12 new A350-1000s ordered

Hmm. I think when she says "We're still working through that", she means it won't be 40" pitch. Even though 38" isn't uncommon among Qantas' peers in W, it's still disappointing but perhaps unsurprising.

Article: Qantas Pleased with Classic Plus Uptake

I guess the complexity is that CR+ is only supported on certain fare classes and has a cash payment component, which would complicate Points plus Pay. Speaking of which, I wonder why they added these to CR+. I can only assume it's to show a lower points number, but I'm not sure about the fare...

    Rex Business Class meals

As far as I can tell yes. I didn't notice any on VH-8ZL. Sad to see they have no closet to hang coats on this aircraft though (I assume the ex-VA aircraft do have that?)
