    ANA partnership with Virgin Australia

You should be OK, I've made a 2h International to Domestic connection from QF to JL there at 6am before (including changing terminals) with enough time to take a shower at the lounge.

    ANA partnership with Virgin Australia

Indeed, the only main difference is whether you're protected on the next flight or not. ANA is generally pretty reliable and there's plenty of flights to CTS to rebook yourself onto (and they're not too expensive) if you misconnect, so I wouldn't be too worried about booking 2 separate tickets.

Article: How I Make Qantas Reward Availability Work for Me

As someone who primarily flies to Asia and occasionally North America, I'm pretty lucky - I find these routes have significantly better QF award availability than Europe, and are easier to get Platinum award releases on too.

Tier Point earnings discrepancy between Earn Categories Table and Calculator

FWIW I've never seen the Calculator wrong per se for a given SC/Points value - only missing a flight/fare class combination that should exist. If the calculator gives a value for your flight & fare class combination, it's correct from what I've seen. With that said I usually rely on the tables...

    The Qantas Newbie Questions Thread

If it returns a result when searching for two, then there is at least two seats left at the displayed price. If it returns a lower price when searching for one, then there is additionally one seat at the lower price.

    CI A350 + Cathay A330 vs JAL 787-8 J

True, but I would say other than takeoff and landing the Apex Suites are the most private seats without a door. Agree storage can be annoying.

    CI A350 + Cathay A330 vs JAL 787-8 J

The 2-2-2 Apex Suite window seat is very good and has direct aisle access, don't dismiss it because it's 2-2-2.

flight credit for less than amount?

Assuming your flights were $1000 per person Fee for credit is $225 pp, so you'll technically get a voucher for $1000 but will be charged a $225 fee when you use it. Therefore, the effective credit value is $775 pp Fee for refund is $500pp, so you'll get a $500 refund per person.

QF 29 Business check in, Melbourne, 2nd October

Could you elaborate on what happened? There's not much that happens at check-in to go wrong unless you had a special request if some kind?

    The Qantas Newbie Questions Thread

There's likely only 1 CR ticket left. All passengers in a booking need to be on the same ticket type, so it makes you buy 2x of the more expensive classic plus. You could make two seperate bookings to get the lowest possible total price.

flight credit for less than amount?

It makes a little more sense if you consider that a flight credit is actually just a ticket change where you get to decide on what you're changing to later. In practice in the GDS it's just changing your ticket to a flight from Fictitious Point to Fictitious Point, and then when you redeem your...

flight credit for less than amount?

You can split it, but I'm pretty sure you can only use each flight credit for one person (maybe someone can correct me if I'm wrong). You won't generate any additional fees by splitting it first.

Qantas SCs with Cathay Business Light

No, those horizontal fare products only apply to Economy. In PE, J, and F they map directly to booking class.

Qantas SCs with Cathay Business Light

The discount business / business distinction doesn't exist for partner bookings iirc. What's important is the fare class letter, not the name of the fare. I do believe last time I checked all Cathay business fares are eligible for earning as Business. What fare class are you trying to book?

Qantas Premier Platinum limited benefit for Darwinites

I know the Titanium card is switching to a self booking web portal later this year, is this the case for the Platinum too? Maybe you can try with the portal once it's out instead of relying on the call centre.

Points stolen from nearly 1000 QFF members by overseas contractor

Well, it seems like they are accessing future flights as well and changing the FF number on those flights (that was the incident in the article), so they'd need access to the GDS at least, right? It makes sense as, I think check-in agents can pull that info up. With that said, the whole...

Fraud on Velocity Frequent Flyer accounts

I was reading a thread on FlyerTalk last year (sorry can't find it now) talking about how some scammers are able to pull off scams where they sell tickets to customers (usually they meet them on Social Media promising premium class tickets at a discount off the regular cash fare) that end up...

    Jetstar Domestic Business

Previously when travelling on Jetstar 787s on domestic routes, you could only book economy and then seat select into Business as an "Extra Legroom" seat. See AFF article from the time: How to Get a $32 Jetstar Business Class Seat Upgrade Now, it seems like you can book a proper business ticket...

Would also love to see Passkey support from Virgin (and Qantas). AirNZ has it, and it's great.
