Avianca "Lifemiles" - Questions and Discussion

re: Avianca "Lifemiles" - Questions and Discussion Well, this particular case is a discount rather than a surcharge, since 90,000 is the usual cost. Nice find! It might be specific to Japan, as JFK-ICN still shows as 90,000. Possibly even specific to Chicago.

Should I stay or should I go (EuroZone)

I believe you are sad. It is important not to become an extremist in your extrapolation from personal experiences, though. Just as it is important not to assume that all people are as ignorant as some of the most vocal.

    Confused about prices/points amount difference

Certainly still working as of now. I already had three trips to Japan planned through next February, but that has now increased to five.

    EY Pyjamas & mattress J Class PER-AUH?

It's over 13 hours. Are you talking about AUH-PER? And if so, it's still Australia to/from AUH. Just include pyjamas etc. anyway. I think you can afford it.

Finding the one world airline with most reasonable fees for award redemptions

September 5 there is business availability on Qatar. FCO-DOH-PER. That or Cathay would almost certainly be fastest. Cathay would probably be a lower co-pay. JAL would also be cheap and you might be able to do two long legs in F, but you'd have to do SYD-PER at the end and get to Frankfurt or...

    Confused about prices/points amount difference

It is nice to see that it works in both directions. Perhaps a response to increased competition on the route? ANA and JAL are now offering better seats between SYD and NRT/HND.

Should I stay or should I go (EuroZone)

A percentage of incomers will always struggle. Just as a percentage of people who became Australian earlier -- by birth, or by arriving sooner -- will call Christian Lebanese 'Muslims', Iranians 'Arabs, and all sorts of peoples 'Pakis'. And of course many misunderstandings about Islam itself...

I see. So your claim is that Muslims cannot be integrated into society and so, um, what exactly?

Why does QF penny-pinch so much on domestic J catering?

On a short flight on Wednesday the fellow looking after the Business cabin came up to myself and the other passenger before take-off and asked if we wanted anything to eat during the flight. His tone suggested he hoped we did not.

AA Flight schedule changed need to cancel Qantas award booking

In my experience it can take longer when the flights originate overseas. You can try and I guess there's nothing to lose.

AA Flight schedule changed need to cancel Qantas award booking

5,000 points per person to cancel, 3,500 points to change. They might waive that for an involuntary change, not sure what would happen if you click the Cancel button. The last two times I've cancelled on the phone I've got the points back almost immediately, but on weekdays. Previous times...

    Singapore- Is 7 days sufficient

I was actually thinking of the Tiong Bahru MRT station, but Outram Park is closer. So you would be fine :-) Only a little further to walk to the river, too.

    Singapore- Is 7 days sufficient

Wangz is a good hotel and close to Tiong Bahru, but it might be a 10-minute walk to the MRT, maybe a little more. Also, it's not as atmospheric as Amoy looks.

    Qantas Award Charges Outrageous

I find it confusing when people say QFF points are worthless because of the high taxes, but also complain about how many of those worthless points a given booking takes. There is a reason they are so easy to obtain.
