Anyone else had an overseas speeding fine arrive in the mail?

I got a fine once for driving in a central city zone in Bozen Italy unknowingly. The fine came from the city council in the mail 11 months after the fact! Something like a 60 EUR fine. No, it has not been paid and knowing how absolutely bureaucratic and slow Italy is, I am confident I'll be able...

What's your tip(s) for surviving the cesspool of Hotel booking websites?

I wouldn't read too much into it. The hotel operators probably haven't thought to sign up with Trip.com, and they also maybe don't know they can take VCCs from Booking.com. If they make it pay on arrival, they can charge you the 3% CC surcharge. They also can't apply CC surcharges to virtual...

What's your tip(s) for surviving the cesspool of Hotel booking websites?

Cash is king in East Timor. I can't remember as well, but either Visa or Mastercard isn't accepted really at all. Take USD cash. We had trouble getting cash out at ATMs (they all ran out of dollars). This was even a problem at the normally reliable and upscale Hotel Timor. Also, when you go -...

What's your tip(s) for surviving the cesspool of Hotel booking websites?

Hi all, I'm a hotel manager and I deal with OTAs and other agents daily. Here are my recommendations. 1. Avoid Agoda! They may have a good sharp rate when you compare against other OTAs, but their currency conversion is scammy and will hit you and leave you worse off compared to other OTAs...

Why You Should NOT Book flights with Booking.com or GoToGate.com

Not necessarily. All these deals displayed here: https://www.qantas.com/holidays/deals will be procured by the Qantas Hotels team directly. Also, any classic reward bookings and any with triple points offers. Booking.com only acting as a reseller for probably Viator in this instance.

Qantas cabin refresh for 42 Boeing 737s from 2027

Qantas I know you're reading this, but I would implore you to improve the leg room in economy if you are investing and looking into the future.
