Using credit card overseas, worth the point ?

Not sure why you're so incessant with your spiel. Depending on individual circumstances, your advice is outrageously irresponsible. Even under a best-case scenario it's extraordinarily annoying.

    GST Refund

That's just wonderful, Mr. Elite. Degree of difficulty on getting a refund there would be around 0/10. Then there's the rest of your magnificent saga, that has so little applicability to the rest of us that I really couldn't understand why you bothered... apart, of course, from the repeated...

Woolworths backflips - QF points are coming back

    That opinion is unrealistic.

    Sleeping on planes......

Likewise. But probably the closest I've come to death was in New York when I tried to jayrun and hadn't made allowance for right-hand traffic. So be careful out there. And I'm a very expensive drunk.

    Yes, using multi-city.

Same dates on QF/EK awards: That would be 120,000 points + AUD511.86. Very roughly speaking, you might be looking at something like AUD2,000 a head in cash fares, meaning that 120,000 points could save you around $1,500. That's not the worst value if you're struggling to use the points...

    Classic rewards flights

Yes. When I look briefly at cash fares for the same dates, QF/EK combinations (some with QF numbers right the way through) come up cheapest at around USD1,350. So it should be feasible to get a ticket for 120,000+cash to go along with four cash tickets. You'll have to do the sums to see whether...

    Classic rewards flights

Just to give you an example of what can be booked using multi-city on CX: 150,000 points + AUD174.26 in taxes. Using a combination of EK and QF will cost you 30,000 points less but much more in taxes.

    Classic rewards flights

I would start with the cash fares and seeing whether you can fit an award around them rather than the other way round. Economy awards can be marginal value at the best of the times, and if you end up buying four more expensive fares than you would have otherwise, then the points probably won't...

Multi-city (MAD-DXB and then DXB-BNE) might give more options. Anyway, I can come up with lots of availability at 60,000 points + GBP198.20. Make sure to keep the connection under 24 hours.

One award seat and four cash seats, and presumably they don't intend for the seven-year-old to travel separately. You might want to think a little before continuing to pull the trigger.

    Scams like these

Not sure what you mean by the typo bit, but the rest was something I hadn't thought of, thanks. So it would be a way of getting me blocked out of my account by having multiple incorrect password attempts?

    Scams like these

So somebody has apparently put my username up on "bugmenot" with a fake password. I cannot for the life of me understand what this would achieve, but my imagination is apparently having trouble with the speed of technological innovation, so if anyone can point to a risk I've missed?

Is Sydney Really This Bad? [Lockout Laws]

Re: Is Sydney Really This Bad? Much of JohnK's proposals are obviously incompatible with a stance such as: If you force the bartenders to decide, they'll just err on the side of safety and conclude something like "What's this guy going on and on about Brisbane for in a thread about Sydney...
