Help with American eagle checkin at lax

Yes - what Serfty said. I'm presuming you're not in the "profiled" age-group for potential nefarious activities, so in true TSA fashion - once-a-year travelers to the US often get TSA Precheck. For next time - you don't have to walk all the way to T6 from the QF lounge. You can just board the...

How do Hilton treat you as an Elite?

I would write to Hilton Worldwide ([email protected]) with a complaint on that. As Boomy says - they can technically deny you a decent upgrade, and claim that they have upgraded "1 category", say to Exec Room. But you are, under brand and program standards, entitled to an upgrade if one is...

How do Hilton treat you as an Elite?

Is this the chap that sent you the initial request? Would you mind PM'ing me the initial response if you don't feel comfortable posting the whole thing online?

How do Hilton treat you as an Elite?

You've completely missed swanning_it's point. As it happens - you're both right.... There's nothing wrong with asking/prompting at check-in, and often it gets you a better result "right then and there" than remaining silent. However - it does NOTHING to prevent the problem recurring next time...

You were still lied to. That behavior is totally unacceptable in my view.

I'm so sick of such BS - I do hope you've given feedback about being lied to.

    Oneworld separate ticket interline changes

Report it to QF - the CSA was wrong and in contravention of policy. The supervisor should also be sent away to "re-education".

    Yes. A perfect example.

    Is loyalty dead?

Further to Trippin's comments.... The other thing to bear in mind is that there are essentially two competing business goals at work: 1- QANTAS (the airline) 2- QFF (the Frequent Flyer Program) There's a reason that QFF is a separate reporting entity - and not just so that it can easily be...

    World of Hyatt discussion

Re: Big Changes coming to Hyatt's Loyalty program! Yes - that's one thing being speculated, which may or may not eventuate. But they are doing a wholesale review of the program, and have a goal of reaching 100m members by their 100th anniversary.

    World of Hyatt discussion

Re: Big Changes coming to Hyatt's Loyalty program! Correct. To the previous comment about the website being contradictory..... Two different things.... 1/ If you qualify Diamond again/fresh by end-feb; then you're good till feb 2019. 2/ All of 2017 activity will be included in WoH...

    World of Hyatt discussion

Re: Big Changes coming to Hyatt's Loyalty program! Your concern re: relevance of the mid-tier is right on the money. I would also adopt a wait-and-see approach. I can't give a timeline (may be this year before Xmas, may be next year some time) but expect a major overhaul at HH.

    World of Hyatt discussion

Re: Big Changes coming to Hyatt's Loyalty program! Some additional Hyatt clarifications to questions that have come up.... "Hyatt Gold Passport continues to operate exactly the same until the March 1, 2017, launch of World of Hyatt. If a member qualifies for Diamond between 1 Jan and 1 March...

How do Hilton treat you as an Elite?

Yes - it has been long established that in most cases - If you only booked a base guestroom or deluxe - an Exec room is the best upgrade you'll usually get (which of course - for a Diamond isn't an upgrade at all, as you already have EL access). They generally upgrade to Relaxation Room/Suite...

How do Hilton treat you as an Elite?

If they have 40 rooms of a higher standard than those booked by Diamonds - yes they can. If not - then they are free to decide who and how to upgrade those Diamonds into the rooms available. The issue is not "WHAAAAA.... I didn't get an upgrade......WHAAAA" The issue is - "You have better...

Thoughts ? VA in its desire to become a business airline forgot economy

There's no "blaming" about it. Nor is it about who "started" it. If you want to go down that path then where do you start? - AirNZ destroying AN? - QF losing the leisure market to DJ? - QF launching JQ and starting a direct fight with DJ? - QF over-investing in JQ, forcing DJ with nowhere to go...

6 hours layover at LAX - long enough to leave?

Middle of the day - Once you get inside the Uber - 20 mins to T1. (Assuming no traffic on Sepulveda, and assuming no traffic in the Central Terminal Area). Remember LAX traffic is heavy in the afternoon and evening, that's another 20 mins alone. Sepulveda traffic from Culver City in evening rush...

How do Hilton treat you as an Elite?

I disagree. When the hotel still has multiple upgradeable rooms available at check-in late in the day - it isn't simply a case that they're being "tentatively held for other diamonds" - it's simply the case that they don't want to pay housekeeping the additional time charges that it takes to...

Thoughts ? VA in its desire to become a business airline forgot economy

Remember that the Game Change Program was arguably brought about by QF's over-investment in JQ which led to DJ having to transform into VA and move up to be a full-service carrier. Rewinding from that - remember that JQ and all its "LCC flag offerings" (including deliberately piss-poor service...

6 hours layover at LAX - long enough to leave?

Rooflyer's old thread is full of good options. I wouldn't recommend Santa Monica for anything less than a full day stopover as traffic can be horrendous in the evening and you don't want to be stressing about time. Manhattan Beach is my recommended "beyond In-N-Out" destination for most folks...
