How do Hilton treat you as an Elite?

That's BS - I do trust that you have written to the GM communicating your displeasure at the poor upgrade treatment.

    DL weird pricing DOM F

The issue here is simply route pricing and end-on-end combinability. AA/UA/DL all made significant changes earlier this year where individual segments bought separately will often price much lower - but the minute you combine it into the full route (regardless of stopovers) - it will price as...

What was your attempted routing and did you have stopovers in there?

    AA's SYD-LAX flight

Thanks Serfty - IIRC that checkpoint dumps you up the escalator and into the connector......

    AA's SYD-LAX flight

Is one sector an award flight? If so - QF will thru-check. Otherwise - assuming that you're departing from T4 - once checked in I usually have a quick look at the security line and decide whether to walk back around to TBIT - in the morning it's pretty empty. Evening - it really depends on the...

    AA's SYD-LAX flight

This is so confusing... ^^^^. Where are you arriving and where are you departing? That's not terribly clear from your post.

    AA's SYD-LAX flight

Evening is the worst time for TBIT - I'd go T4.

Involuntarily forced from business to economy

Has the OP initiated a chargeback yet? If not - then I hate to say it - but stop asking for advice if you won't take it. Chargeback should've been initiated the second he got into the Uber upon arrival.

    Oneworld separate ticket interline changes

Good to see Red Roo lurking in this thread - perhaps they'll be good enough to post the official QF Policy document here ;)

Involuntarily forced from business to economy

I would chargeback - without hesitation - and in the first instance. The chargeback procedure can be lengthy - I'd get it started. I would then proceed with a customer care claim. And some here who are more social-media-savvy would make a fuss on Bookface and The Twit

    Oneworld separate ticket interline changes

I genuinely showed up a the check-in counter not too long ago, the agent asked me for my destination as I fumbled to get my QFF card from my wallet.... My response was something to the effect of "Umm....oh....ahhh......ya know.....I've gone blank......here's my card....". Turns out it was SYD ;)

Through checking on separate itineraries: policies and experiences

AA have stated that they will thru-check AA to *O on combo rev/award travel BUT the travel needs to be combined into a single PNR. This can be done by a convoluted method which requires calling AA to have this done. Without having the separate tix combined into a single PNR - AA check-in...

    Is loyalty dead?

There is a belief (prevalent currently with the US Big 3) that customers will "buy-up" to higher fares to maintain elite/points earning & benefits. Whilst I strongly disagree with the strategy, and also discount the effect of the "buy-up theory" - there is 'some' research to suggest that in...

    Is loyalty dead?

Yep - Trippin's data shows some interesting stuff - namely that TBH - VA have been pretty generous in the new SC earnings. I also believe there are further changes coming in the future, and I do believe that VFF management are aware of shortcomings to the appeal of the VA status offerings and...

    Oneworld separate ticket interline changes

Haha - you're funny. Unfortunately - I have little to zero confidence that many check-in staff will have even seen this document. But if supervisors have bothered to read it in full and actually pass on the entire policy to frontline staff - then we perhaps stand a chance.

    Is loyalty dead?

Agreed - but even in the common-sense usage of the term (and the meaning that we berate airlines about for ignoring) it's still a two-way street. Whether it's buying our favorite Apple products - OMG there's a new iPhone!!! Or loyalty to family/spouse/footy team.
