    Latest Velocity BP Fuel Offers

Sure, others make mistakes too, but my experience is that Velocity is more consistently poor than any other rewards programme in this regard. It's on a par with Accor 10 years ago or Hilton 20 years ago. My latest BP promo just posted today. It was supposed to be posted within 2 weeks of May 6...

    Latest Velocity BP Fuel Offers

I never claimed that and this has nothing to do with the time it takes for transfers between partners. The transfers of points occur quickly. The bonuses, which can be calculated at the same time that that occurs, are simply held off until much later, most likely due to incompetence. And my...

    Latest Velocity BP Fuel Offers

If you think financial rewards are more important, fine: If I trigger a Coles Flybuys offer, it posts to my account within 48 hours. If I trigger a Woolworths Rewards offer, it posts to my account immediately and is printed on the register receipt. BP includes the basic points data on your...

    Latest Velocity BP Fuel Offers

I got that one too. It came just before a massive price hike in Melbourne, so I made 4 transactions of tiny amounts. Now, of course, the issue is the waiting. Even when they say "Members will receive eligible bonus Points in their account 2 weeks after [promo end date]", you can be chasing them...

Fuel up at Shell or BP?

This is the thing I bet a lot of people miss. Shell/Coles Express totally gouges on premium fuels. BP charges 8-10c more (depending on outlet; for each one, it's consistent) on U95 over U91. Shell adds 17c for U95 over U91. Near me, the U91 price for BP and Shell that's up in massive lights...

    QF v SIA customer service

Just wanted to update this, as the information provided at MEL is wrong. I was given a list of luggage repair places which Qantas will let you use to get a bag repaired. While 11 are in Sydney, there is only one in Melbourne and it's in Camberwell!

    QF v SIA customer service

Years ago, Qantas damaged a bag of mine and sent me to Sweeney Luggage, who replaced it. Recently, another bag was damaged by them. I was told they are no longer dealing with Sweeney and will provide compensation for the damage. The new system is definitely designed to be hard. They request a...

    Qantas Award Charges Outrageous

Random whinging, yes. The ACCC seems to only take interest in matters which are subject to significant public complaints. The QF surcharges clearly have only one purpose: To devalue points surreptitiously and obfuscate pricing. I believe every single person affected should complain to the ACCC...

QF lounge access for unaccompanied 17 yr old

So? They're inside an airport. If strangers inside an airport are a big deal, I suggest staying at home, forever, with the windows and doors locked.

QF lounge access for unaccompanied 17 yr old

I don't see why not. We're talking about an airline lounge in one of the most secure places you can go, not a back alley

Why I'm unlikely to ever "Cruise" (At least on a large ship)

Queuing hasn't been a big issue in my experience. The worst has always been the one for getting off the ship at the end of the cruise, compounded by it being way too early in the morning. Unless you have unlimited money and a team transporting you by sedan chair to your personal hideaway...

    Melbourne SkyBus gone up again

901 bus. It usually meshes pretty well with the train timetable. Also the 901 stops next to the station now, instead of over the other side of the road. I often catch it, since I live in suburbia and have to pay for a train anyhow. If I was coming home from the airport now, PTV says it'd take...

    Qantas hotel price promise

I've looked at Qantas hotels a few times, but with the effective 10% discount (1 free night in 10) on hotels.com, I've never found an instance where Qantas hotels was better value. And about a year ago, I booked the Windsor for $137/night through hotels.com. Same price as the Windsor's web site...

    QantasLink to operate A320

The fares charged for regional WA flights are awful. Cost to fly PER-KTA/BME/etc is usually way higher than PER-MEL/SYD/etc. JQ-level A320s with no modification would be an even worse deal and I'd hope businesses would reward QF by switching to VA if that happens.

    Row 4 - 737

This seems to be of limited use. I tried it on my upcoming QF reservations. Bookings made through AA couldn't be accessed at all. Bookings made through BA came up fine, but attempting to select seats bombed out with an error message. The only one that worked was a reservation booked directly...

VA LAX Catering Debacle November 2017

I'm thin and I'd be totally miserable if this happened. Airlines such as VA sell an experience, not a bus ride. One of the activities that keeps people entertained and happy during a flight is eating. Failing to provide the advertised level of catering and failing to advise customers in advance...

    Flybuys geo-blocks points transfers!

As usual, I've been accumulating Flybuys and waiting for the next 15% Virgin bonus. Today it arrived, 3 days after I departed on an overseas trip. Doing a transfer through my home proxy worked fine, but not everyone has that or a VPN setup. As a comparison, transferring Amex Membership Rewards...

    Flybuys geo-blocks points transfers!

I don't know what else to say to someone who is continually and apparently deliberately missing the point. Does EY offer time-limited bonus transfer offers? If not, it's close to irrelevant. If they do, then that is relevant for EY users. If VA sends me an offer and Flybuys have things set up...

    Flybuys geo-blocks points transfers!

It has everything to do with VA. If it weren't for VA's bonus transfer offer, the geo-block wouldn't matter. You could just leave the transfer until you get home. Yes, it also matters if you get other kinds of time-limited Flybuys bonus transfer offers, but I'm not aware of any such offers and...

    Flybuys geo-blocks points transfers!

No, it's not a good defence layer. Crooks buy and sell lists. If a leaked/brute forced password is out there, an overseas crook will just sell it to someone who can access it. Who is going to amass significant amounts of points in Flybuys while not in Australia seems to me to be an irrelevant...
