Downgraded without notification - what are my options?

Yep, I totally underhand that last minute requirements will see pilots bumping J passengers due to EBA when they are flying for operational purposes. Personally, I don’t mind them flying J given they will need to safely operates a flight right after or later in the day. Agree that’s it...

New look QFF My Account page

Agree… the flight search bar takes up a bunch of room and makes it hard the see the info that is the whole reason for going to the my account page! Some of the info is displayed better… but it’s further down the page.

"... we'll shortly announce a major investment to improve our Frequent Flyer program"

Agree. In fact, I’d hazard a guess that they’ve been holding off releasing seats for months now pending a massive dump around launching the new Classic+ seats.

Virgin Australia to Reconfigure 737 Fleet - Spend $110M

Ah that makes sense. Finally found the press release which confirms their intention to add business to the economy only 737-700 aircraft. https://newsroom.virginaustralia.com/release/virgin-australia-unveils-cabin-future-and-110-million-fleet-wide-aircraft-upgrade

Virgin Australia to Reconfigure 737 Fleet - Spend $110M

No power, no wifi… etc. I’d be surprised to see them be refreshed anytime soon since they I believe these seats were installed when they were received from KLM. I also would have expected Business seats to be installed at the same time… so wondering if they may stay as all economy.

Virgin Australia to Reconfigure 737 Fleet - Spend $110M

Hmm... good question. This was one of the new "all economy" 737-700's acquired from KLM. The seats were new and look similar to the new seats they are getting, albeit a lighter grey. Perhaps they are different, but i can't see Virgin replacing/updating them, given they look new.

CR flight MEL-SYD. What's my chance of an earlier flight?

Bags will not be an issue as you must collect bags and clear customs when you arrive internationally into Aus. Fare class being a classic reward will be mostly irrelevant at this point as travel has already commenced. Qantas tends to be more flexible with allowing anyone to fly ahead but I’ve...

Virgin Australia to Reconfigure 737 Fleet - Spend $110M

I flew on of the new midlife 737-700 last week which had the new seats. Was initially excited but that wore off during the flight as I came to realise the seats are less comfortable than the existing seats. They are more functional in terms of tray table, tablet mount and headrest, but the...

    Premium Economy vs Economy Food

Each to their own and everyone places different value on products. Personally, I have and will continue to fly PE where it presents an affordable option for the additional space, better seat comfort and improve food service, especially on longer flights! As for class, PE is not economy. It’s a...

"... we'll shortly announce a major investment to improve our Frequent Flyer program"

Yes, but as I found out recently, the 20% deposit option has limitations. The booking can be refunded/cancelled, but it cannot be changed/modified until full payment is completed. I had to contact QF Hotels to complete the payment early so I could modify my booking.

Many Velocity Partner Redemptions Becoming Unattainable

VA reward seats are reasonable, if you are flexible, but I’ve also observed a general decrease in the number of premium seats available. In the past, I’ve been able to get up to 4 J reward seats on some domestic flights but more recently I’ve only seen 2 J reward seats on most flights (searching...

50 people injured on SYD-AKL LATAM flight LA800

Wow that’s concerning if true! Guess the planes need a good old turn off and on again before it flight 😂😂 (And scary 😳)

International Flex Fare = Saver Conditions For Changes

I’d call the fare rules fine print as you have to open them seperate to what the booking engine shows - I.e., a table of the basic features of the fare selected. Even if the fare roles were not considered fine print, I would think the “note” at the very bottom of the fare rules that negates the...

Pets in the Cabin - Coming soon on Virgin Australia

Family has always had pets and we love them… but not a fan of seeing pets in cabins. Allergies, kids being scared of dogs, barking and noise, pets needing to relive themselves… to repeat a few things already said on the thread, are just more things to make flying even more uncomfortable. Yes...

International Flex Fare = Saver Conditions For Changes

I’m not a lawyer so only taking a guess, but I would have thought the practise of applying the most restrictive terms via a disclaimer / fare rules could be considered misleading. Given the primary message / impression when selecting a flexi fare (along with the big green ticks saying you can...

International Flex Fare = Saver Conditions For Changes

Agree that’s it’s quite misleading for them to sell you a flexi fare on one segment and then apply the fare rules from another segment. The system should prevent you from purchasing as flexi unless all lower fare classes have sold out. I wonder if this could run foul of consumer protections if...

Good News! Pyjamas on (almost) all Qantas international flights in J!

I’m in the “like QF PJ’s camp” and wear them whenever they are provided when I’m flying J. Much more comfortable for sleeping and relaxing! Each to their own :)

"... we'll shortly announce a major investment to improve our Frequent Flyer program"

Seeing some really weird points classic rewards pricing on connecting flights.... i.e., the pricing says classic reward but the points are closer to points + pay... so very possible the website changes are not going quite to plan.
