Are people seeing significant knockbacks even with ≥9 I class fares available?
Had no luck this week at all despite giving 7 day ranges for departure & return and multiple destination options.

Nope, only Qantas in the last few years. Are the people that fly on those airlines not total morons incapable of handling their baggage efficiently or something?

The difficulty is that a large percentage of passengers are braindead idiots who are incapable or uninterested in following basic rules.
It should honestly be 1 item only, I'd even support removing all carry-on that won't fit under your seat.
Forget about long haul Y, who's going to actively decide to fly Qantas Int. J when not incentivized to do so? They aren't even the 3rd best option flying in and out of Australia and are generally the most expensive.
